  • Sounds like "sun-eyed girl" to me.

  • Typed in Southern Girl to find it.

  • You mean it's not "mice on a girl"???

  • Fuck Vevo!

  • isn't it i saw that girl? lol

  • @mwauconda It's sun-eyed girl:)

  • this is the best song EVER

  • Come check out the video-lyric to this song at my channel!! :D

  • Ha... I always sang it "My summer girl." Whoops!

  • WOO! I GOT THE WHOLE SONG DOWN! XD

  • this song is so twisted....awesome

  • i always thought it was "my summer girl"

  • haha i tought it was my sun eyed girl

  • My mom, who introduced me to Beck, and I had a big argument because I thought he said my, "My one eyed girl." Since, you know he took her eye.

  • @masterofchaosjulio it is, the lyrics on here are wrong.

  • beck should make a website telling people wat the lyrics really are XD

  • @Boom1chaching I know it's a joke, but I felt like pointing out that on Beck's website it just goes "My ... Girl"

    That douche >=(

  • i always that it said

Hey, when i saw that girl

  • i heard it was "Maziena" or summat. I dunno; Beck has every1 on here wonderin' about it XD

  • I think he goes back from " cyanide " to " sun-eyed " when he's performing live and stuff. in the lyrics book in the guero album it says " my ... girl " so he wants to keep it a secret i guess.

but i think cyanide makes more sense because in the song it sounds like he wants to kill this girl.

    thats my thoughts :O

  • Couldn't understand a fucking word of it when I firtst heard it.... ''Take her with a salty lunch''?????

Wierd sound, fantastic fucking tune though. I'll never get board of this

  • I thought he said 'I saw that girl'

I was really young though when i first heard it.

    x

  • Beck's as cool as a cucomber :D !

    kiss from france ;)

  • 1st verse is sun eyed girl then Cyanide girl,

    your both right?

  • for the record, mostly correct lyric, except it is in fact "My Sun-eyed Girl"

  • Chorus sounds like Stone in Love by Journey.

  • My first impression was this:

And I know I'm gonna steal a ride

She doesn't even know what's wrong

And I know I'm gonna make it right

Take her where the soul belongs

And I know I'm gonna steal a ride

    Nothing that I wouldn't try

    Hey, my Southern girl

    Hey, my Southern girl

Frankly, how you hear it I believe says more about you than Beck. Most likely Beck made the lyrics ambiguous on purpose. The jacket says 'My ......Girl" (hint hint, SKs out there)

  • what the hell!!!

  • so are these the real lyrics? cz i've seen some that says this, then another that says "sun-eyed" even "summer". i'm sooo confused! lol

  • i think its sun-eyed cuz he says with a noose she can hang from the sun , then put it out with her dark sunglasses.. so if it is sun eyed it kinda makes sense puting out your eyes with sun glasses?... i dunno lol

  • yeahh it does make sense.

    i like "sun-eyed" better anyway.

  • And it also says 'I know I'm gonna steal her eye'....so sun-eyed makes even more sense.....I really don't think he's saying 'summer'.....I guess the only way to really know is if someone asked him.....I don't see that happening...

  • Cyanide

  • swear it's sun eyed girl... Just doesn't sound like cyanide girl

  • SEE-AN-EYED girl lol thats how its pronouced

  • Agreed... I even thought at one point it was "Summer girl" but it didn't seem to work.

  • Comment removed

  • GREAT song

  • no-one wants to hear about your "gf"

    scrubbbb

  • The only reason (other than the fact that Beck wrote it this way) that I think the lyrics confuse you is because love is unclear itself. Whats the subject of the song? A person he loves.

  • Nop, the lyrics are actually quite clear. THe man singin wants to kill the girl he's looking at the vending machine. He's giving all these images of her dying.

  • I think it's all a metaphor for Los Angeles.

"With a noose she can hang from the sun

And put it out with her dark sunglasses," The whole song is something hidden within something else. The song seems really up, but when you listen to the lyrics, it's actually quite gruesome.

  • @artemislover23 TOTALLLy AgrEE!!!! good insight there.

  • yeh cos you need to be clever to understand these lyrics. Im 13 and even i can!

  • sun eyed girl... cyanide gilr

  • oh thanks for pointing that out I will make shur to change it!!!
