I´m from Buenos Aires, the city where the tango was born, and i can sure that when you meet the real tango, you will fall in love with it. Many people come to Argentina just to learn to dance the real Tango. And they use to surprise when they find out Tango is not like they see on Hollywood films

If you want real tango, i recommend you search on youtube videos of Miguel Angel Zotto, Gachi Fernandez and Juan Carlos Copes (dancers)

just want to clarify with those who discredit this as a tango. Not all tangos = argentine tango. DWTS is a ballroom dance competition, which is why they are dancing the standard ballroom tango. However, since its a showdance for tv audience, they included many argentinian elements, and pop culture tends to equate tango with argentine tango anyway. But I think this performance is still a great one, so please don't discredit it.

in argentine tango, the heads are closer together instead of as far away from each other as possible, which is the style of ballroom tango. I personally think argentine tango is way more passionate, but i guess the judge didn't like to break the "rules", although according to a great tango teacher of mine, "there are no rules in tango."
