Wonderful! I think it sounds so lively and grand because you are all CLEARLY passionate about music. It brings a great energy to this piece. Well done. The hair in the face never bothered me (I've watched this a few times). It's something you'd see from a rock musician. It's interesting to see how the same focus and sense of "feelin' it" can transcend genres. Bravo once again!
I love this piece and have heard many recording of it. Few things that need to be corrected: 1) perhaps the video is recorded using a hand held device, so the sound isnt even. Also it does matter how you seat/stand yourself in a group. I cant really make out too much of second violin and viola. A semi circle would be ideal. 2) Half the piece I am trying to mentally move the freakin hair off of cellist face. Very distracting to a viewer.
Are you freggin kiddin me? this is better than most stuff I've seen on youtube.. Hell if I see another phone video capture I think I'm gonna barf.. This is good in comparison. it captures, in essence, a good performance.
@mjacob78 are you a prat or something? what does it matter if the cellist's hair is in her face? ok- i think they will do it all over again with her hair tied up this time just to please you??
Yes. I'm a classical guitarist. I played this quintet with a group of friends, mostly for the fun of it (and what a great piece it is to play!), but also performed it a couple of times.
Unfortunately, I can't play much nowadays due to osteoarthritis in my left hip. Bad news for a guitarist . But the music still goes on in my head. :)
Too bad sorry to hear about it! Try supplementing with some fish oils that may help. As a classical guitarist who recently broke a nail I cna understand what it's like not to be able to play lol.
Wonderful. Bravissimo Fandango !

@marxtom The best version that exists, is with Narciso Yepes and the Melos Quartet, a recording of 1970. Believe me!!!

Excellent. Cruelly neglected here in England. Maybe you'll help to popularise it.
