  • Just to clarify; while the promo appeared during the pledge drive, they pair weren't live in studio for it. They shot it a couple of weeks earlier when they were in town for a Buffalo Doctor Who convention.

  • RTD was the douchbag that ruined Dr Who. The BBC sold out.

  • It's the douche that ruined "Doctor Who"!

  • @MetalheadJay78 Dont be so bloody rude

  • @Anttygravity, Rude? I'm being bloody honest and many would agree with me.

  • @MetalheadJay78 You should tell the truth but say it in a friendly way! (eg) She was not the best character in doctor who and I think the creaters made a mistake in making this character.

  • Hark at that dopey Australian crone puttingon that ridiulous stuck up voice. Your fooling no one Janet, your an Aussie - common as shit

  • I get an ache when I think of how good Drwho could have been if galaxy class lamos hadn't gotten their mits on it. Taking what was Sherlock Holmes in space and turning it into an insufferably gay camp romp without even any wit or cleverness. Way to be. And it's even gotten worse, since then. It's as if Vicky Pollard were an alien and she's taken over Britain.

  • At least in Chicago we didn't have to put up with these freak shows when we watched Dr. Who.

  • LOL, i can imagine 'Janet' really being JNT's name when he went out in Soho on a Saturday night!

  • @pufferfishish I take it he was actualy gay? Certainly seems it but u never know these days

  • @bluejeckett Legend has it that he accompanied young Matthew Waterhouse who played Adric, around all Soho's gay bars. JNT had definitely taken a fancy to him

  • @pufferfishish ;lmao are u serious or just taking the piss? Yeah I can believe that he wouldve if he was gay, cos soon as JNT became EP the first new companion introduced under his reign was Adric, who to my recollection is the only young boy character companion the show had.

  • @bluejeckett I heard that it was true. Nothing particularly wrong with that in itself, as Matthew was 18 when he first appeared in Dr Who.

  • Oh, I remember these days - I always loved the Buffalo PBS station. Not so much anymore, but there was a time it was the only channel I'd watch.

  • WONDERFUL blast from the glorious past!

My Doctor Who fix came from PBS out of New Jersey Network Montclair in the mid-80s, and they aired many promos and many full documentarie, but this particular pitch was something new to me.

Golden Age of Doctor Who! Thanks much!

  • LOL! Very funny. Especially after hearing all of Janet's commentaries and how much she disagreed with, but was still very fond of JNT. Love this vintage PBS stuff from when DW was at its peak in the US.
