No it is not possible to detonate thermite as while the reaction is extremely exothermic it has low brisance i,e it does not react fast enough to dissemble the molecules. Putting a cap in there would make one hell of a hot mess.
do you think its possible to detonate thermite? i mean.. make it go boom.. and what will happen if i put fx. a blast cap in the middle of a bit of thermite that it would go all over the place.. do you think it would ignite and make extremely hot fragments?
