The entry by catching the punch is highly unlikely,and following uke's punch back to him isn't a good idea,because the other hand (his left hand) is going to strike you or at least struggle to counter your lock.My video this week addresses this matter more functionally.I'm sure that sifu can do this tech but not in the way that it's presented here.
I can say as a student of Master Yang's that it works really well. I have been trained personally by him. His Chin Na is the best I have seen. When practiced well it is extremely effective, The key is practice practice and more practice.
@xChuckNorrisKickx this is a very common lock used by police. it actually does work very well. it's not usually done from catching a punch (which is very hard to do), but it absolutely works.
This is indeed Master Yang Jwing Ming. The Chin Na techniques are part of the Southern White Crane system. Since Taijiquan is comprised of White Crane and Snake, it too uses the same Chin Na techniques.
@KungFuKid1015 I know. Its from the tia chi root. Hapkido locks are from t the same root. Im into both martial arts. Im a 1st degree black belt in hapkido and I was into his books before I got into hapkido than later realized it helped me understand what he's doing. The movements

@archmoth As well as Kung Fu, I also do Aikido which shares the same techniques as both Chin Na and Hapkido. But I stiil love Chin Na
