@rudixxxtiida sure, nissan tiida is a very standard vehicle, if some modifications are needed, be sure that they would be a very easy issue for both, the very trained installer and the any amateur car enthusiast.
@rudixxxtiida the sensor remains the same (it ALWAYS goes before the filter box), avoid touching it. Just remove the original filter box and replace it with the apollo. A completly different task will be if you decide to replace all the rubber air hose with those alluminium tubes, that for sure, will not make any noticiable difference.
@rodrimrr low restriction filters are completly legal. The only reason they dont come as an OEM presentation is that they produce some additional noise (you can hear how the engine breath) that can be annoying to the average driver, and, of course, as they increase a little bit horse power, they also increase fuel consumption.
Whats up with that little hole? I put the threaded plug in it but now I'm thinking about getting a blue bottle of Nitro and squirting it in that hole with a nozzle.
What a wonderful sound this filter system puts out. Everything sloppy about my engine harmonics were instantly brought back into line as soon as I put this filter on. I'll put up a drive with video....just click on my account.
Hey just so you know that adapter you said to put on the end of the cold air intake hose for better air flow is actually an adapter to connect the optional cold air hose to the intake box. Looks like you know what your talking about.
Hello! I have a Alfa Romeo 156 2.0 JTS with 165HP Modell 2002. Which K&N Apollo Filter can i use and how much would it cost me? Please tell me the Price in Euro, because i am from Austria (Europe). How can i order it from you, can i pay by PayPal? THX! PS: Great Video! ;-)
I think the presentation was excellent, and the asshole that calls himself blackdick is probably some racist white american teabagger, I know because I am a black american and have a nose for spotting racist...but I digress,.I have a toyota rav4 sport 2008 and would like to know step by step how to install.....
@sabu63 Cheers for the comment and the backup, much appreciated. Well every car is different so install can be different. If you look at the product on our web site you will see a DIY Tips tab which pics from a customer who installed in his Honda.
ive been reading euro forums and they have been saying the K&N is more problematic than the pipercross they copied. The K&N requires custom MAF sensors or swap overs from other models to work aswell whereas the pipercross are made for specific vehicles. I guess since pipercross was europe only and limited to a select few cars, prolly why K&N copied and sell it in north america. Also after awhile the K&N start to bog and hurt the responsiveness. Hope this helps any interested.
Interesting... I guess everyone has different experiences and opinions but we have sold a lot of these and never had any complaints or issues with responsiveness.
@modyourcar Hi, I was curious as to whether I would be able to fit a duct onto the end of the Apollo's cold air feed. Or would I need to buy another hose? What effect do you reckon this would have on a Ford Fiesta 1.25?
is this a gimick product for the ricers or does it actually work more effeciently than standard cold air intakes? what about short ram intakes? Also why is there no graphs?
How is this a gimmick? Its a cold air intake set-up like any other on the market. All/most cars respond well to improved intakes that's no secret, you dont need a graph to tell you that its pretty common knowledge.
Couple of questions. Does this come with the "hose or clamp" that connects to the engine? Secondly, doesn't the pipe end up shaking all over the place when driving considering there isn't a clamp or anything that holds the black piping down. Thirdly, does this fit civics and will the hood close perfectly without contacting the air filter? Lastly, How much horsepower gain is expected compared to a factory intake?
Sorry for the late reply. It only comes with the parts you see in the video. Every car is different in terms of fitting which is why it doesn't come with anything. You will need to make sure it is secured properly in your engine bay as well, again its something you will sort out at the time of install. Will it fit in the bay? Well again that something you need to look at when installing, Ive never had a customer have an issue and we have sold literally hundreds of these.
I want to get one of these. Ive currently got the stock intake box on my r33 gtst with a k&n oiled panel filter.
If I get this thing and hook up the intake pipe down at the front of the car under the foglights, will it suck in water during the rain? Is it best to point it forward in direction of travel or facing down?
@modyourcar Thanks for the response! I'm checking out your site and I might order a black one off you guys! Going to fit the pod into the engine bay and use the old intercooler hole, and expand it if necessary, to put the induction pipe down low
Yes I'm happy with it but just want it to go faster so I'm thinking about getting a K&N cold air intake like you have in the video. I don't know much about what good but decent priced performance parts to add on. I know turbo's and superchargers are expensive. What do you have in mind?
All cars respond well to "breathing" type mods so yes putting on an intake kit like this will help your engine breathe and get the coldest air possible into the engine. The cold denser air means more oxygen for combustion = more power.
Check out nas-tech-engineering
(my CCAI System for my girlfriend's '99 Rav-4 utilizes the factory air filter box ... where you can place an ICE-BAG)!

@kishchester Some cars require that vent but if not you can just block it. Which hole are you referring to?

@modyourcar thanks for your reply, im guesing it migh be the vent you have been talking about, its the smaller hole of the two you can see @ 1:24.
thanks

The less resistance you can provide the better so facing the pipe directly into the oncoming wind means the air is "forced" into the pod.
Just make sure the air filer is higher off the ground than the piping - water must obey the forces of gravity!
