Let me get this straight. We had the technology in 1969 to send men to the moon, and today we can send video images wirelessly across the world in seconds, but we still cant figure out how to remove a cancer from people's bodies. I don't get it.
I lost my dad to cancer on March 20, 2008. This makes me think of him. This is a beautiful story! I must say, back in my high school days I had a crush on Nick. Very sexy! Nick and Fred Hickman were much better than anybody on espn could ever be. RIP Nick. My condolences to the family.
I caught Nick on a wild feed back in about 1990 on my old satellite dish. He was covering some major sports event and was set up behind a makeshift, plywood set with nails sticking out. One nail ripped his expensive suit badly and here came a litany of profanities and ass-chewings during a commercial break (but LIVE to dish viewers) that would make O'reilly jealous. That's a memory about him I will never forget. I just wish I had been rolling tape.
I remember watching Nick and Fred Hickman on CNN back in the '80s, when cable was young and so was everybody, filled with hope. The Reagan years, morning in America again years.
how ironic Nick Charles dies on a saturday, the day boxing brings out it's best and puts on it's best shows, GOD wanted to watch tonights boxing match with Nick Charles tonight so he called him up to the great boxing party in the sky, R.I.P. Nick Charles you always be loved and missed, thank you for being a true Inspiration,,,,
he passed away today .. i'm a little sad right about now ... i thank god I have seen this video before he passed .. this video helped me stay positive and keep god first above all things.. thank you my friend Nick Charles .. R.I.P =,-) rest in paradise my friend
In this day and age of blow hard egotistical sports anchors that want to make it more about themselves than the sports they are covering please take note... Nick Charles was one of the best!! . They say you can learn a lot about a man by the way he reacts to dying and the dignity he portrays, truer words have never been
spoken. Your daughter and wife have so much to be proud of, your legacy is set in stone not only as a sports anchor but more importantly as a father and husband , RIP NICK
my father died of bladder cancer from smoking. He waited 1 yr before the first symptom. Was curable if you catch it earler. Not sure if Nick's is different than my father's. Any kids that might watch this: NEVER PICK UP A CIGARETTE!
God Bless you Nick Charles. I can't imagine what he must be going through. What a great, positive, and inspirational attitude to have in spite of fighting this terrible cancer. I always keep hoping that there will be a cure for cancer in our lifetime. My dad was fortunate enough to beat his lymphoma about 10 years ago. I know it's tough to go through.
Hang in there Nick and best wishes to you and your family. I don't know them personally but they all seem like wonderful people.
Dam Nick I can't imagine how you feel bra.. but keep strong .. and keep god first above all .. make peace with yourself and with everyone around you.. before going home with god .. I just amazed that he's still has a positive attitude even in his dying days .. Nick Charles is truly a Champion ... inspiration to many .. thanks for everything bro .. you have alot for Boxing .. ='-(
ok im 12 and this made me cry zoo much.....my mom knew him cuz she worked in the same company in 1990's. I bet he was or is a great dad and he seems as sweet as can be! i will pray for this family and i know he will watch over his daughter in heaven!
I read the article on Si, and I am very glad that you call the fight between Garcia and Matt.... Thank to HBO for letting you have your wishes, and looking forward to see you many many times,,,,,,
just heard about his death and it really saddens me. I grew up watching and listening to Nick. I never knew he was ill. Miss you big fella.

Embedding is STILL disabled? What's wrong with you CNN faggots? You've been asked many times to reverse this. Please do.

It's a terrible shame that this video cannot be embedded so that others can see it outside of Youtube.
CNN, you really should reconsider such a selfish decision.
