  • I knew the Thornton family as a child growing up. When I was in elementary school, he gave every student a small tree to plant in their yard. He coached, along with his wife, a softball team that I was on. I remember him as being a patient, caring man. I hit a fly ball and as I was running to first base the ball came down, hit me, and I was out. I was very upset and he talked to me about how I had tried my best and that I was getting better each day. It's nice to see him so successful! Beth
