that is the traditional final fantasy opener music. in at least half of the final fantasy games to date, they play that scale during the mini movie thingy if you leave the controller alone for too long during the main menu

it wasn't 8 bit. Snes was a 16-bit console with an 8 channel sound card that is actually superior to the gba's.
