  • The clip is extracted from "Beauty Parade" (dir. Tang Huang, 1961). The young girl is Guo Su (played by Ting Hao), a peasant girl who pursues her studies in the city. At school, Guo's talent in competitive sports is shown, but her studies suffer. This is the episode in which she re-takes the examination. Towards the end of the film, Guo leads her basketball team to victory and wins the title of the "Queen of Sports". (based on the synopsis on DVD cover)
