Great lesson, I asked my history teacher what the X in the southern cross flag was for, he did not know the answer (maybe he did but didn't tell me) and told me to research this for extra credit. Thanks I now have some background in American History.....
If this was mentioned, i missed it. This flag was the battle flag of C.S.A. General P.G.T. Beuregaurd. The Confederate General that attacked Fort Sumter. And belonged exclusively to his regiments. It was adopted later by some other regiments not connected with his command. However, the information on St. Andrews Cross is correct.
Thank you for clarifying what The Southern Cross/Confederate Flag stands for! I'm sick & tired of explaining it to ignorant people. My Great Grandfather headed-up the Confederate Cavalry. My family understands why the war started & it was Not based on racism. It was just as you stated, "Government Tyranny & Unfair Taxes". Thanks for doing your homework!
I'M PROUD OF THE CONFEDERATE FLAG!
IT HANGS IN MY HOME IN A PLACE OF HONOR TO HONOR MY RELATIVES WHO FOUGHT IN THIS WAR TO DEFEND THE SOUTH.
There are now only three state flags that carry the cross of St. Andrew: Mississippi, Alabama and my beloved Florida. Long live the South and her people.
Great job with the history lesson, I honestly hope more people can learn the truth about the Southern Cross and the men who died defending it in battle.
It is my hope as well that people in this country learn not just the truth but to hear both sides of the reasons we went to war with one another.
What bothers me is that the politically correct tend to see that any form to question the war and to bring about the southern reasons or justifications is labeled as a racist or some neo-Nazis group. Dumb and stupid if you ask me, but people, namely the politically correct simply need a history lesson.
The politically correct don't care about the truth or trying to educate, all they care about are feelings and emotion (not ours, heaven forbid-if they believed in heaven that is).
Very informational and professional. It should be noted though that the Official flag of the Klu Klux Klan is not the Confederate Battle Flag but the American Flag, but if you truly want to call a flag the KKK flag there allready is one. It's sole use is representing the KKK. You would have to search it because I can't describe it. It's not a common flag.
Great video. People so mistreat and judge things especially one of these great southern icons of honor and valor

Hi Legoking,
Thank you for your comments!
I wish other people did their homework and see that the flag itself is not what they think it is. Few understand it, many never will.
