  • I'm From Brunswick county virginia "The original home of Brunswick Stew" lol and you did a very nice job sir. i think you captured the brunswick stew idea, make it your own! keep it up.

  • Good video. Looks yummy. Just being a first time viewer to your channel, the first part of that video was a little confusing since I had no idea what that would do with the stew.

  • what happened to the Lima Beans?

  • :O Tell me where you live.... I'm comin to your house and stealin this from ya :)

  • Rule #1 for scrambled eggs, shake them!

  • good video

  • This is definatly for an American taste. I'm surprised He hasn't covered it in a layer of cheese and deep fat fried it.

    Not for me I'm afraid

  • @Damoskinos I love you pretentious foreigners.

  • wow that is amazing but i have a question, can you do this in the oven and turn it into a casserole..it looks amazing and i would like to try it for new years..Jack keep these videos going i really learn alot. helped me after surgery and your videos kept me preoccupied from the pain

  • @CaptCharisma09 it was my pleasure to help you after surgery. I would guess it would make a good casserole. Let me know how it comes out.

  • Mirroring the first video I commented, it still needs some cheese buddy.

  • Hi. Enjoyed the video. Stew looks good. About the induction cooktop....It certainly will never replace gas-however it is very convenient for some applications.

  • I just started this recipe and the amounts are wrong. First I noticed you used the bigger cans but label them as 14.5 oz. and the weaigh of each of the meats has to be wrong as well. What gives?

  • @bugnutz43847683 I added in a partial can get get me to 14.5oz. You can go less if you don't want to go into the next can partially. It still will cook down just fine. Everything else is correct.

for the chicken I used 3 lbs of chicken breast. I didn't want dark meat, but the recipe calls for the whole chicken.

for the beef I cut off 1/2 lb. off the 2lbs. log. you can see the end is cut off.

for the pork I used 2 one pound little packages and 1 was cut in half.

    The meats are correct.

  • Jack, I have been wondering.........of all numbers why did you pick 69 for your username? hahahahahahahahahahahahhaa

  • @TheMrKracker numbers I have always used were 4, 13, 69. Easy numbers for me to remember. If I recall, years ago jakatak, jakatak4, jakatak13 were taken. 69 wasn't.

  • How many people would you say this recipe feeds?

  • @ConnorViper six people for sure. Add some bread and butter and it's a meal.

  • Dude, where'd you get that sexy red pan?!?! I've been looking for one since FOREVER and I can't find one!

  • @dornXklondykeXbar walmart.

  • @jakatak69 What is the pot called? We don't have Walmart in Australia .. :(

  • @CityRuler1 it's called a dutch oven. some are round and some are oval. Mine is porcelain coated. Get the coated one. Easy clean.

  • can you cook the meat apart at the beginning so you can drain the grease? Looks very good.

  • Yep.... I sure remember saying, "Hey why not put the recipe in the comment section."

  • @Trex1268 yes. You were one of 2 people who recommended it and I didn't do it. I will totally give you the credit. Sorry I didn't pay attention the first time.

  • It always makes my mouth start watering watching your show Jack. Great work.

  • How long do you cook the chicken? Do you cook in in broth or just water?

  • @benjamings I baked in oven about 50 minutes - 1 hour at 350 degrees F

flip it over at 30 minutes.

  • Like you were saying, stews can have anything in them.

That's what they were supposed to be; a mixture of anything and everything you had on hand so you could extend your supplies.

And man, just seeing this stew makes me really hungry.

  • Can i replace the pork with some more beef???

  • @OrCohen93 you can do whatever you want. It will still be great.

  • I DEMAND A MINIMUM OF TWO VIDEOS PER WEEK!

IT'S SO IRRITATING WAITING FOR ONE VIDEO, I WANT...I NEED MORE!

    (caps definately necessary)

  • dude im a new subscriber but i really like ur vids. y? because u dont get fancy. u tell it as it is and make it simple. i dont really know if ur a real chef but i still like ur vids

  • @MrAwesomeArab I am just a regular guy that loves to cook. I am not professionally trained, but sometimes that's a good thing. LOL

  • is there a substitute for tomatoes?? cAuse I REALLY HATE THEM for me its like when a vegan bites into a living chicked :( . hope you know where im coming from but yea i know this question is STUpid

  • @kaushikpaddy yes. use tomato puree instead of whole tomatoes or blend the whole tomatoes into a complete liquid. There will be no biting going on. :D

  • @jakatak69 buuuut i reaaaaly dont like tomatoes in any form soo it there any substitute?

  • @kaushikpaddy replace this recipe with Clam Chowder. LOL

  • @jakatak69 :D well i guess just aint for me

  • i was not execting for you to shove the whole bell pepper in there like that!!

  • If I Had A Clone That Ate My Freshly Baked Cookies, I Would Whack Him With A Spoon And Say "Bad! Bad!".

    Just Saying... :/

  • I just want to say i love the cartoon version of the various meat types :P loved it!

  • I love your food pyramid at the beginning. XD

(and WOW! Thats a huge bottle of hot sauce.

  • I'm no expert at this just just cook what ever but I think you were suppose to put the bell pepper into slices or dice them either way you did a good job

  • Isn't it better if you take out bell pepper's seeds?

  • @esc0barrr I was about to say the same thing, but then I realized:

The seeds are not spicy, so it would not affect the flavour, and the texture from the seeds would not be noticeable with the ground beef.

To the other person about cutting bell peppers up into slices: Doing so is purely for aesthetics.

  • that looks very tasty. looks like ide have to dig out a bib for that dish lol

  • I'm making cream soda.

  • what about setting 2-4? induction cookware takes some getting used to but works just as well as any other heat source.

  • Why didn't you try making a Georgia style with squirrel? LoL!

  • um, the best way to keep eggs from burning is to heat the pan first and then add the eggs...

  • @TYPEArchANGEL that would work if it was a normal stove top... this is induction so that doesnt work

  • i feel like bagels would taste good with this.

  • @elementsk8er821 any type of bread and butter. I made corn bread this week that should go with the stew. it will be up tomorrow.

  • how did u cook the chicken? BBQ? pan-fry?

  • @SeahMinTze I baked it in the oven with seasoning. 350 for about 60 minutes.

  • Wow!

@ 5:09 u look incredibly thin Jack, keep it up :D

  • @roflWafflez101 I am working on it. thanks.

  • I see you have lost weight XD

    Good luck!

  • The stew is original from Compton ca.

  • can u do an australian special! like all the foods us aussie love

  • @PriincessSBby send me some recipes and I might try one.

  • omg thats how u get beef and pork! thats how we get our dog food lmao

  • oh you paid 160$? bad move... i had an induction cooking plate bigger than that and cost only 40-50

  • can you try to tell us how many calories are in your food , because i really wanna try to make these recipes but i dont want to over eat ya know?

  • Is there any way to make it in a smaller amount? because that is just.. insane, lol. It'd go bad before one or two people could finish it off!

  • @HeatherC19 just cut it in half. I gave all of my family some. it was a huge hit.

  • jack... will you ever make some curry goat and rice with peas?

  • hey jack where do you get your tubeuler meat all we have up in canada isflat meat...

  • @fanbid every store carries the tubes and the fresh and the fresh packages. We have lots to choose from.

  • I hear you're doing cornbread next episode! Cornbread is one of my favorite things to cook. I love it sweet, buttery and moist.

Be sure to bake it in the old cast iron skillet!

  • why didnt you use real tomatoes?

  • @QueenofPancakes5260 OMG, did I get plastic tomatoes in that can? I am going to sue the store. LOL

    just kidding.

  • i mean why did you use like..the tomatoes that dont come in a can. you know what i mean

  • @jakatak69 ahahahaha!!! duuhhh!!

  • @QueenofPancakes5260 Ha Ha Jack just owned you lol. A better question would've been, "Why did you not use fresh tomatoes."

  • @pristinemirage lol thats what i ment to say xD

  • @QueenofPancakes5260 I assume you mean fresh tomatoes? Why in the world would you want to use fresh tomatoes for a stew? Just like a spaghetti sauce canned tomatoes are better because they are pre seasoned and softened. Fresh tomatoes should never be used for something like this, save them for salads.

  • @QueenofPancakes5260 tomatoes in a can are just as good and I can have them until I need them. Fresh tomatoes require steaming and that's a lot more prep time. The stew already took 3 hours.

  • Jack,

Your looking smaller buddy. Keep up the good work!

  • @TheMiz21100 thanks. I have stayed away from a lot of certain foods. other than filming, I eat pretty good.

  • Around how much does this cost to make?

I'm tempted to make it sometime in the following weeks, since I love brunswick stew ((I'm from Georgia)) but they stopped selling it pre-made in stores.

If I make it, I'll take some video and pictures for you.

  • @AmenLordi3 it will cost about $25 for all of the ingredients. Wait for ground beef or chicken to go on sale.

  • hi jack love your videos i am going to be like you when im older. i am slowly working my way up making cookies in food class XD

  • RE: induction cook top supporters -- get 'em Jack! Of course you're gonna get some of those who support the devices. Every piece of crap invention who left as quick as they came because of massive defects and simply not performing or being what they are sold HAVE a few successful customers. So let those few who have success with their "devices" say what they will.

I'm curious, have you; or is it worth it, contacted or sent your video to the manufacturer?

Keep on being great!!! Thanks JACK!!

  • JACK ITS BETTER IF YOU PUT SOME GREEN PEAS.

  • bwahahaha the cartoon animals omg bwahahahaha :P

  • QUESTION!!!

Do you think you can maybe to a series to address the college student? I currently am and don't really have time to cook a lot, but love to. I love to cook for friends, but like I said, I'm scraped for time and money. I would love to hear any ideas you might have.

  • How about 3 instead of 5? Lol.

  • so tell me jack whens that mokey bread coming out ????

  • @ni17ck I appreciate your persistance, sugar coated, sugar flavored pieces of sugar is not making it on the show.

  • @ni17ck lol.... you mean monkey balls right???

  • do the perfect steak

  • this is so cooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • I wish you were my dad!

  • @tnt666tnt i know that would be so cool!!!!

  • looks very good, i think i will try this out

  • There is a place where I live (quebec) it's called Nouveau-Brunswick... BTW it look very good

  • Maybe it's your shitty cookwear?

  • I really like your show and respect what you do to make it happen, big fan for a long time. But the quality of the meat in America looks subaverage.

  • @SethRogenFanYeah The sad thing is that most times the meat is sub-par. You can get organic sometimes but the vast majority of commercial meat is lower quality than it should be. There's actually a documentary called Food, Inc where they kind of show the behind-the-scenes operations of meat plants. Almost the whole meat industry is controlled by just 2 or 3 companies, so since there is little competition, there is little incentive to improve quality, only incentive to make a cheap product fast.

  • That's a stupid thing to say.

  • In the USA do you not have butchers? Why not get the mince fresh? The rolls of mince look like dog food =S

  • @ScarletteRibbons The average person tends to go for what's cheaper. Going to an actual butcher tends to be pricey.

  • Take the seeds and all the white parts of the paprika out they are bitter and can ruin such a good dish as this.

Just a tip from a chef and keep it up Jack! I have been watching your show since before I was a chef (graduated 1 1/2 years ago and been watching for almost 3 years) and I love watching your show for your personality and because it's great to see you inspire people to start cooking again instead of eating junk food.

  • @swiftkillah313 congrats on your education. I am honored that you take the time to teach me stuff, too.

  • I really appreciate that you address your past videos in your most current video. That is really helpful for us! I am just loving your cooking style!!! Thank you so much for these honest and helpful videos and thank you for being so involved with the community you've built here! :)

  • @knightofpassion you are so welcome. I am just happy to do this show.

  • Your mistake with the induction from what I can see has nothing to do with the quality of the cooktop, but because you didn't let the pan heat up, I do have different size burners in my cooktop so had this problem since it has the right size for the pan. That's my theory though.

  • Ok the burning question is how you got the celery to stand on top of the cans like that ;)

  • looks nommy

  • Isn't that the pot u used for the lazy mans lasagna ? Lol

  • @jaywilton18 yes

  • Well done Jack! What type of video camera and audio equipment do you use? Quality is great!

  • @IAlanakiI I use a Senheiser lapel mic and canon HD HF10

  • @jakatak69 holy crap ur replying to a lot of comments!! thanks jack for appreciating your community

  • @Linksapprentice100 I try. some days I have no time. Today was a good day to dive in and have a discussion. :D

  • Can you eat the stew without beef to get the same results?

  • @LUIGIYOSHI112 I would say so. Just replace it with more Pork or substitute it for a different kind of meat.

  • epic cooking!

  • lol, i like the animal pictures that are supposed to represent the meat =D

  • That looks real nice, Jack. I don't think we have creamed corn over here in scotland, but I'm tempted to try this out.

  • @everittdaniel use regular corn

  • hey jack if you are trying to eat healthier you should cut salt out of your diet. salt is terrible for you and you get used to having no salt in anything.

  • Jack, Can you do this in a slow cooker?

If so, Is there any difference of cooking?

  • @Leafadder yes. use a crock pot or slow cooker and the same time frames should apply. remember to keep the lid off or majorly cracked so you can let steam escape for thickening. If it's not thick then keep cooking.

  • i have a recepie! And it is HEALTHY!

  • Can you please make the recipe for Biriani?

Its a main dish. If you message me I will send you the recipe ! :D

  • lol

    at 4:54 Otis the Cow

  • @bigbearz10 I love barnyard

  • that cooking top thing, would be GREAT for camping!!! in my eyes anyways

  • @ReidHarris7 yes. still would work if your camping near electrical outlets.

  • Is there a difference between packaged meat and the meat thats in the tube? like flavor or anything?

  • @haloman180 I have found no difference.

  • Great video

  • Mmmmmm looking great jack.... You must be getting goo to say there wa no bloopers (not that u were nevr good)!!

I allwaus use whole plum tomatos because they are sweeter and juicier!!

  • @penguinoncrack2k the whole show had no bloopers. sorry.

  • NO BLOOPERS?! :(

  • @wieldrecht078 honestly there were none.

  • I love that BBQ sauce so much unfortunately they didn't have any at whole foods in Irvine...Oh well I'll just have to check again soon! :)

  • @thedeomon just order from my site TheBestSauces (dot) com

    free shipping to your house.

  • oooh, so this is why u were making chicken the other day =)

  • Need to try this on the next big festivity!

  • Looks like that would be good with sour cream on top and Saltines on the side!

  • Don't blame you for being frustrated with the people over the induction cooktop, those things look great on an infomercial, but then so did the magic bullet and you know how rubbish that was.

is Brunswick stew limited to the south east?, as even when I've been stateside (only been in Florida and North East), I've never seen it in restaurants etc. Just wondering if its like Scotch Broth, impossible to get in England

  • @A16AdamWalker It was new to me when this girl told me her grandmother made it for her all the time. Now you can make it anywhere. It's pretty darn good.

  • @jakatak69 It looks it, although all that meat reminds me of a Full Scottish Fried Breakfast lol.

If you can't get creamed corn (I've never seen it for sale here :-( ) do you think you could use just regular corn kernels? and maybe add some extra liquid or cream separately? If so might have to pick up the ingredients tomorrow while I'm looking into baking a cake.

  • @A16AdamWalker regular corn will work fine.

  • Hey Jack, If you haven't done so already, can you please do an episode on mac and cheese. I can not seem to find a good recipe!

  • Now I want to eat stew! *G*

  • Hey Jack I have a question. :P

When you make a big meal like this for a video, do you feed it to your family for a meal or something? xD

  • @CookiesxRawrx Yes. We always have it for dinner after the shoot. Unless it's a breakfast episode. LOL

  • @jakatak69 id love to live with you rofl
