  • good. i love kimchi. eat the kimchi.

  • @Davinchiwoo Kimchi burgers are starting to appear on menus in the USA, too. I can't think of everything in one video. :)

  • @Tamar1973

Some Korean comapany already made kimchi burgers 10 years ago. can you find korean internet site. also they had rice burgers. did you live in 춘천 now? good luck.

  • Kimchi + Pastrami or Corned Beef....soooooo win!

  • this is nice

  • Now this explains where Tarma gets her red hair... Huh? Anyways, great fusion of cultural classics! Got Kimchi?

    Peacefully Stay,

    -Jeff

  • Wow, this is so creative!! Never would have thought of these combos! Thank you for this video!!

  • @teeheelaheez Don't knock it until you try it. It's awesome.

  • re: the hot dogs

Where in the world did you get such BIIIG hot dog buns!!???!?!? O.O

  • @youtmeme You can get them anywhere. Most grocery stores have them, but they aren't marked as hotdog buns, there usually called brat buns. You can get them as a bread, or a hard roll, if you're doing brats id get the hard roll, but for hots the white bread version works better.

  • @FiestyCat86, sry belated response, but thanks! ;)

  • Very interesting! I'd like to try. I've had Kimchi with swiss cheese and steamed rice all together, and it tasted pretty good.

  • Intriguing! Kimchi is growing on me with each day I spend here in Seoul.

    -Evan

  • actually get some kimchi juice and throw in some sauerkraut...........awesome

Kimchi on a dog doesn't work for me. Been there done that

  • for you dumbass people kimchi has much more ingrediants then saurkraut. raddish, tons of garlic, onions, cabbage, fish oil, red pepper. The fermentation is different to. So for those who dont know about food should go do some research. its like comparing apples and oranges. Just cause their both sour doesnt mean their the same food.

  • LOLOLOL you think I'm Japanese? HAHAHAAH

    You fail miserably.

Btw, Koreans and Japanese are exactly the same too

  • KIMCHI: lets talk.

  • FAIL. Sauerkraut is extremely healthy and contains just as much vitamin C. Sauerkraut is basically a Cabbage Kimchi and just like in Kimchi most of the vitamins are released during the fermentation process.

  • Seriously...sauerkraut and kimchi are exactly the same.

  • your retarded lol, thats like saying sushi and sashimi are exactly the same.

  • They are...the only reason why dumbasses like you give them meaningless pedantic differences is because you have an overinflated and pretentious view of your culture.

  • wow seriously dude go do some homework on your food culture. You call yourself japanese and say sushi and sashimi are the same? Go kill yourself cause your a disgrace to your own people.

  • @bugsbugmenot

Kimchi I see and buy and eat is never pasteurized. It has all the living probiotic bacteria. It is always refrigerated

Is the sauerkraut you buy alive like that? Only some of it is. I eat both but give kimchi the edge. I am not Korean

  • I'm making a batch atm with a few habaneros added to the mix to make it extremely hot.

Defiently gonna try the corned beef and kimchi idea, sounds delicious!!

  • Wow... kimchidog... I'm a Korean in North America and I've never thought about that but that's a great idea.

  • Thank you for the video! I've tried the kimchi sanwich. I never thought of kimchi hotdog. I think fried kimchi would be nice on the hotdog. It's watering my mouth!

  • Let me ask you some. Are you in food business? Interesting you talking about our Korean food and, apparently you know many things about Kimchi. Appreciate. Hope keeping it up for you and us, Korean.

  • i think fried kimchi would have been better with the hot dog mmmm

  • If you wanted to make the flavor more mellow, cooking it for a short period of time would do that.

  • @Tamar1973 cooking your kimchii kills the probiotic (ie helpful) bacteria. And why are you using such crap meat like hotdogs, corned beef and pastrami - omg

  • @imnotabear None of these recipes use cooked kimchi. The kimchi is either eaten on the side or with the meat. If you want to see cooked kimchi, you'd have to check out kimchi bokkumbap, which is Kimchi Fried Rice.

  • i am sorry that foreigners know only spicy kimchi.

  • mul (water)kimchi, dong kimchi. oi (cucumber) sobaegi, baek (white) kimchi are not spicy at all.

  • there are kimch which are not spicy at all.

  • as you know, there are so many kimchi in korea: there are 200 kinds of kimchi.

  • Maybe one of these days I might do a video about those, too.

  • Great! Why don't you try some "Kimchi Burger, too?" You can do a lot more.

  • good idea actually. Always felt sauerkraut taste similar to kimchi. I'd suggest tho, to lightly toss the kimchi on a frying pan with light oil. I think it'd go with hotdog or any other sandwich better and would taste yummier. Just a suggestion.

  • That sounds so good your good girl

  • mmmm yum sounds good I will have to give those recipes a try!

  • wow the color of your hair is very beautiful!!

    ORANGE~

    don't see it very ofen.

  • i like kimchi, and I studied in canada for 9month but I've never seen that kimchi is sold in canadian supermarket except korean supermarket

but American or European hadn't eaten raw fish and soy sauce but now they eat them, so it might happen as well

kimchi is a start of korean food

    do your best

  • kimchi's smell is so strong and no good. asian people might like kimchi but it's not easy to advertise kimchi in other countries

    just advertise other korean food

  • Actually, kimchi is becoming more popular in the United States. Kimchi used to be sold only in Asian/Korean grocery stores but now Americans can find kimchi in regular grocery stores. Also, Yonsama's Gosrieh resturant in Japan has made lots of money selling Kimchi as well.

  • haha im half korean so for thanksgiving my white cousins came over and were horrified with the red sour smelling blob in the fridge LOLz there so scared of korean food :P

  • That's their loss. Hopefully, you can slowly teach them about how wonderful Korean food is.

  • well, i`m korean, and i like to eat a meal with kimchi, but...um...how can i say it...um...these foods what you introduced are kind of wired for me(-_ -);;

  • PUKES

  • lmao. it's one of those things that you get used to. As a kid i didn't like kimchi at all but over time it actually tastes refreshing. you know, pickles.

  • Kimchi is like German Sourkruaut

  • Koreans were eating kimchi before a single German ever existed.

  • BURN

  • I LOVE KIMCHI!

  • 김치 좋아하시는군요!

    저도 김치 좋아하는데 ㅎㅎㅎ

    김치 맛있쬬?ㅎ

그리고 재 채널 첫번째 구독자해주셔서 감사해요.ㅎㅎ

  • Nice. Good ideas.

  • i love Kimchi

  • The following is from Health magazine:

Kimchi (or kimchee) is loaded with vitamins A, B, and C, but its biggest benefit may be in its healthy bacteria called lactobacilli, found in fermented foods like kimchi and yogurt. This good bacteria helps with digestion, plus it seems to help stop and even prevent yeast infections, according to a recent study. And more good news: Some studies show fermented cabbage has compounds that may prevent the growth of cancer.

  • One of my German friends talked about sauerkraut and we looked it up the dictionary and found out "German kimchi"! My friend also found it hilarious! It tastes so good with sausages. You should really go to Germany and try some. I love German food. Really.

  • That kimchi hot dog is literally hot dog! I'm going to try it. I think it would taste better if you slice kimchi into tiny little pieces. I love eating beef steaks with kimchi. It's so delicious.. a perfect combination! Try curry rice with kimchi too!

  • Yeah...homage to Kimchi! One of my favorite sides! I'm glad to see someone from Salem knows that Kimchi is not some form of martial arts!! :)

  • kimchi is a form of tongue torture!!!!...........cause so damn spicy!!!but i love it to death..lolzzz

  • sory.I'm not good at english

  • So informative!

    Sulay

  • the sculpture in the beginning looks like a dick

  • this scares me.

  • 沒想到你您的廚藝這麼高。

  • You have to Cook the meat first! Then put it on the sandwhich! And your right ,Kimchi has alot more values than Cabbage, But back in the time, when it became popular People could only afford the meat not the veges and since Cabbage was so cheap! Thats what was used ,And the reason for Peppercorns ,Cheap. Youre Sandwhich would be Phenominal serverd it HOT!Melted Cheese,Meat ,Kimchi, Ohh ,La,La! Excellent vid! Celebb youve done it again! A Golden Band surrounds you and your Viewers!!! Many, stars

  • Tamar1973 : simply awesome, so informative,

  • The ONLY korean food thats applicable to something as a sandwich or pizza would be Bulgogi or Kalbi. I mean it fits. The taste itself compliments the pizza or sandwich much better than kimchi ever could. If you want spice, have some Samgyupsal on it with that red sauce they use for the pork variety of Bulgogi.

  • I am Korean who think kimchi hot dog will be great. I will try it for my lunch. I often cook delicious Kimchi spaghetti. You should try it. ^^ I thanks to Tamar1973 for posting video about Korean Kimchi and loving it so much. I am looking foward to see more invented Kimchi food videos of you. YunSeung, spaghetti is Italian's but Kimchi spaghetti is my own recipy. The Kimchi started from Korea but it could be anybody's food.

  • I think it will easy to eat if you thin slice kimchi like sauerkraut for hot dog. ^^

  • Oh, One Pizza place in Flushing, NY serves Kimchi Pizza. Kimchi used for spaghetti, pizza or pancake suppose to be sour one not with just made one.

  • They have kimchi pizza in Korea, too. I have my own version on youtube you're free to check out. You'll see the difference between my version and the versions you've tried before. : )

  • I've heard of kimchi spaghetti. That sounds pretty good, especially if the spaghetti has meat sauce on it. You're making me hungry. : )

  • I've tried Kimchi and spagetti, its a nice combo actually.

  • I think Kimchi flavored cigars would be awesome too. In fact I think Kimchi pills would be great since it does give us 80% of our daily recommended vitamin C intake. Kimchi Gatorade... hahaha I can go on forever.

  • After watching all of these videos and noticing my comment getting deleted; I must say as a true Korean that all of these things are just plain ridiculous. I don't know what kinds of taste buds you all have acquired over the years but I can guarantee you that I've never acquired these tastes. You can eat what you want but if you're trying to impress koreans, you'll actually get weird looks by us if you say you've invented the Kimchi hotdog. Thats something an old korean bachelor would say.

  • If my video is so bad, why is it in your favorites? ; ) I did delete a comment by mistake some time ago because the reply button was right next to it, if that was your comment, I'm sorry (unless you were using foul language, I proudly delete those kind of comments).

  • Haha its just the hilarity of the video. Kimchi Hotdog was funny but Kimchi reuben was funnier. I'm so amused by how weird these foods are! Is that a crime? :)

  • What's so funny about replacing sauerkraut with kimchi? Except for the gochujang, they're basically the same food.

  • It's KIMCHI that's why. I've always eaten Kimchi in a korean fashion with korean food when i was a kid. Once my Mom made some Kimchi Pizza... Yea. You aren't the first :)

It wasn't good. it just wasn't. Mixing western style junkfood with Korean staple food is just... no. It just doesn't work for me :)

  • Just yesterday we were thinking about how awesome it would be to replace sauerkraut with kimchi for our hotdogs!

  • I don't want mayo or cheese anywhere near the kimchi.

  • You haven't been to Korea lately have you? They're putting cheese on everything: bibimbap, dakkalbi, etc. 10 years ago, they probably would have deported you for that. LOL!

  • thaks

  • i'd say if you can feel the taste of kimchi, it is almost same as knowing all about Korean food, I'm sure.

  • Right on!

    김치 goes with EVERYTHING!

  • Tammy, serious question for my own curiosity and questions asked by some of my viewers. Is kimchi halal? 감사합니다

  • That's a more complicated question than kashrut/kosher. With Kashrut, vegetarian kimchi would qualify as kosher. Halal doesn't concern itself with shellfish but Muslims are careful about alcohol and lacto-fermentation. I would advise a Muslim to consult their Imam about the issue of fermentation in food such as kimchi, pickles, etc.

There must be a way to make halal kimchi because Korean restaurants in Singapore (Seoul Garden) & Malaysia are able to obtain halal certification.

  • Wow, Kimchi with hot dog? I gotta try that!

  • Ahhh, I thought Kimchi was squid until I watched this video. lol

  • Kimchi is basically a Korean word for pickled vegetable. The most common kind is pickled cabbage but Koreans also like to pickle radishes, cucumbers, and other veggies as well.

Like I mentioned earlier, some kimchis do include seafood and although I've only come across salted shrimp and raw oyster, I wouldn't be surprised if some kimchis included squid in the mix as well.

Every Korean woamn probably has her own recipes for kimchi.

  • H tamar... love this video, I'll surely try all these coz I know they are delicious. Thanks for sharing and GOD bless.

  • this looks good, you really like kimchi!!!

    very creative!!!

  • I did not know that your "model" was your husband hehehehehe Americans in Korea! Love it! You should write a book for sure!

  • Yeah, I was able to take the camera away from him for a short time. LOL!

  • Some kimchis (not all) are made with salted shrimp or raw oyster so you do have to be careful. However some US grocers do sell vegetarian versions.

You may also be able to make a special request with your local Korean grocer to make you a batch of kimchi without shellfish.

  • Great video. I really enjoyed it.

  • Is kimchi kosher? I read it is not.

  • ok now i'm hungry

  • Sounds absolutely nummy. Can't wait to try the Kimchi reuben.

  • Yes, Kimchi can be a susbstitute for sauerkraut in almost any recipe except for German Chocolate Cake. I wouldn't advise eating kimchi with that. LOL!

  • Interesting.

  • i think your husband is very lucky..^^

  • Oh great... now I'm hungry... Good ideas though!

  • 10 stars!!!

  • you are always professional tamar i will try it ^ __ ^ thanx for sharing honey

  • your videos are sooooooo professional mashallah! love it!

  • I will try a kimchi hotdog!!!

  • terrible!! it tates horrible

  • If it's so terrible and horrible, then why did you give the video 5 stars?!?! LOL!

  • the video is great. lol..

  • Hot and helpful I'm telling my mother about you

  • Interesting, I have actually talked with students about the similarity (some) between sauerkraut and kimchi but never thought of a kimchee dog. WIll have to try that. :) Thanks. :)

  • I'm a meat man, so kimchi's not in my diet BUT I have to admit...that sammich looked mighty tasty!

  • If you really like to eat meat, then you should add foods like kimchi, sauerkraut or kosher pickles to your diet. Foods that are naturally fermented help in digestion and prevent the formation of kidney stones.

  • Excellent excellent ideas!

thank you for making this video, you are great

  • wow @,@ very interesting !!!! Thanks for sharing your clever ideas ... I especially want to try that kimchi hot dog.. ^^

  • wow that was awesome~ I have a huge craving for kimchi now~ :)

Kimchi and ramen is my favorite combination but now kimchi hotdog might be my new favorite.

    ^^

  • Thanks for the suggestions! KtC

  • wow... i will have to try the pastrami and corned beef with kimchi. Do you recommend using other types of kimchi?

  • Daikon radish kimchi might be interesting if you like a crunchier texture but I'd stick with the regular kimchi.

  • Tamar, Great vid, as ever! Did you check out my new 10 facts about Seoul vid? I'm working on a history of kimchi vid myself, now. Did you know gochu (chili peppers) are not indigenous to Korea? With Korean culture being 4,4441 years old (2333 BC origins with Dangun), gochu powder style kimchi is shockingly new--at only about 400+ yeard old! Gochu is indigenous to Guyana, and it took Spanish traders, Philippine traders, and Chinese sailors to introduce it. (Oh, I'm giving too much info...)

  • i knew that.

    many koreans know that.

KEEP GOING! I WANNA HEAR MORE!

  • The new vid will be out today! Check it out for kimchi history!

  • Chilli peppers came from teh Americas and were found dimilar to those peppers of Spain and Portugal. From there they went everywhere, India through to Asia. cheers KtC

  • I think it's interesting that the people of the Hermit Kingdom incorporated hot peppers in their diet so completely that people nowadays consider hot pepper paste uniquely Korean.

  • great!

  • Oh it's look great mmm^^

  • Never would have thought to add kimchi to a hotdog! The sandwich looked great :)
