I personally don't care that you're a 'full time alcoholic' - like your profile states. My hobbies aren't 'booze' either like your profile states. I, on daily basis, help animals, ferrets mainly. I wouldn't have said anything if you didn't say that you can feed them cat food and they're cheap, because they're not.

I've rescued many ferrets from homes who fed them really bad diets. Half the ferrets lost a lot of hair, weren't very energetic and weren't feeling great. Many cat foods contain vegetables too which ferrets should not really have on daily basis as they are carnivores after all.
@malabuxbarbie Clearly, if you're feeding your ferrets cat food, you're not giving them the best they should have. Cat food usually has between 20-30% protein in it. Ferrets need at least 35% in their food as well as around 20% fat. There's a number of cheap foods out there that will provide them with that, so don't be cheap and feed your ferrets better food. It will pay off later in their lifes. They will be healthier and they'll have less of a chance to get ill. Proper diet does wonders.
