Hi, they are costly that can't be denied and many people take a similar view to you. I certainly don't have a problem with that view and I wouldn't try to tell anybody these basses are better than anything else because when it comes down to it, it's all about personal taste and we are fortunate that there is a wide variety of basses and bass sounds to choose from. Hi, thanks for your comments. I have started learning it by ear direct from the CD and I do find it a very interesting and challenging piece. I don't know if there is any sheet music or tabs around, sorry. Once learnt, like you I will be performing it for a gig.
Thanks for your comments, I doubt if the £850 series bass was a genuine one. I saw one on ebay for £900 in the last year and it was withdrawn as it was a fake sale.
sounds incredible, and great in your hands too. I was devastated the other day when an alembic series one went on ebay for £850 when i'd bought a new American deluxe jazz bass the week before

@Mightypaul ;I do and have for over thirty yrs. Thru they are not suited to all musical styles. Each to their own. They are the Bentley of basses.!

@MultiGMusic I don't use tabs at all I just work things like this out by listening to the track and working it out by ear.

The bass is a 2002 Stanley Clarke Signature Deluxe bass with coco bolo top and back. I just Love it.
