  • @legunncat i think to say that they had 'some political material' is one of the biggest understatements you could have ever said.

  • @patd804 Ok kid, whatever you say. Glad you youngsters like the Clash. Nice to see people listening to old music.

  • The greatest band ever playing the greatest track ever. It doesn't get better than this...

  • Strummer always gave Mick credit for being such a great arranger. This song is a case in point. Beautiful.

  • cheers for upload awesome!

  • make that 29 morons

jeez all u idiots go listen to ur god damn bieber

  • there are four musically illiterate morons

  • i love this song, have toots and maytals, robert palmer and others. i just discovered this today. my new favorite,.

  • THE CLASH BEST BAND EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Nobady is better than the clash

Im on,y 16 yearss old and i can even say that!

  • @yeahitzmeeh stfu faggot

  • @yeahitzmeeh boo hoo, im 20 and i can also say that, do you want a cookie ?

  • @yeahitzmeeh great attitude to have. im glad some of the young can cut thru the crap . i can only imagine what you have to endure. the default soundtrack for your life is deplorable , you have to proactively seek out good music. I hope you listen to The Jam also. "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight" is one of my favorites-you need to hear it! keep it up!

  • @selfgen

You are right This version of 'Pressure drop' is great and The Jams 'Down in a Tube station' is an all time fave of mine

  • @UTFRG well thats not what it is at all.

  • That guitar tone (I think it's Mick's) is so good. Fuck, this was a great band.

  • @therealWTFproduction don't come on here and start hating, its a quote

  • Super fun, thanks, been stuck on the Clash forever, and hard lately, Toots still owns this song though, the Barrymore Theater in Madison a few years back, damn.

  • super fine fun, thanks. Saw Toots live years back and never have heard this version

  • quality!!!! nuff sed! xD

  • Allthough I like The Clash more then Toots & The Maytals the original is far better, gets me chilled out and skanking ewery time!

  • what's the difference between the Clash and the Monkeys? The Monkeys had better songs.

  • Che bella!...

  • Reminds me of what true music was and is. Integrity, intelligence and inspiration all rolled into one. Just listening to the clash shows you how much music has deteriorated in the past few decades. You can't look to music for the qualities listed above anymore.

  • @SuperPauld1 yeah you can check out my band, northofthesun type that in on here

  • @ShakinToBeatles debatable yeah, they were a pop band and yes changed the way music will be made and the lifestyle but apart from that what did they make happen?

  • I never heard this!!! Awesome cover by ClasH! *****

  • go guys go!

My daughter just posted a 'Tommy Gun' vid on my facebook page in memoriam. It goes between generations into the unwritten future.

  • rip joe strummer. decmber 22

  • Thank you, Joe.

  • joe strummer original rude boi !

  • God bless Joe

  • wow. i always thought this was an original. awesome song

  • The only band that matters plays the best song ever written, can't get much better than this!

  • The Only Band That Matters. i regret being born in the 90's

  • @Generation1Terrorist i believe we died in WW2 man reincarnation into a different body same soul no recollection which is why the music culture and everything about a different time appeals to us

keep living pass the word on learn from their songs and keep growing !!!

  • this version is amazing but it definitely sounds better played by the specials but nothing beats the original

  • @cripple128 this isnt the original :L

  • @magnuschubb no shit. originals by toots and the maytals

  • @cripple128 well dont call it the original then :L

  • @magnuschubb you realize i was talking about 3 different songs right?

  • @cripple128 o' my bad man :)

  • @magnuschubb no worries brah

  • “They would also break down doors musically, bringing in reggae and disco, among other genres – killing off arguments about what punk rock had to be.

“But it all started with this record, which is brilliant in so many ways.” -Frank Iero

  • joe

  • punk isn't music...is a way of life

  • @TheZaratustra1989

it not a way of life, its an attitude, a protest against the society

mod, rude or skinhead are ways of life, cultures that care about music and vices, but also about job and living in that society, punk doesnt give a shit about nothin

  • joe stummer was god

  • the clash are the only band that have ever mattered

  • @patd804 I don't think this is too far off. They represent everything great about rock and roll and managed to make great music doing it.

  • @patd804 and the beatles...

  • @patd804 ummm no

  • @patd804 That sounds more like you dont like any other music rather than just calling the best

  • @patd804 true dat politically

  • @Bowieschlampe exactly man

  • I'm Patriot but I don't give a fuck for that nationality shit and I care for Peace and equality for all of us and you stupid English nationalists can suck my thick Serbian cock.

  • @19RaS93 Tell it to the people!

  • dude who are these 25 dislikes? we need names and addresses

    @MrPolishxD - babylon gwan fall

  • @bingcrispin I was number 26. ;-)))

  • I fucking don't like reggae/left-wing "culture", but the music always calms me :)

  • @MrPolishxD Interesting comment. Maybe in your heart of hearts you want your humanistic side to come out rather than be a soul robbing facist.

  • @michezulu Yeah, i'm Nationalist. Problem?

  • @MrPolishxD ...michezulu is a negro. Just ignore it.

  • clash are good, but i can't get into this cover..

  • @420pgc I feel the same way, like a love them but there's just something missing.

  • the clash were always a part of my life not a day goes by that i dont them , from a teenager till now and im 46 they will always be the greatest .

  • @therememate Yes, I'm 41 and it's been the same experience with the Clash for me. Not a day passes by where I don't think about them. The only band that Matters, still.

  • i love clash

  • What the fuck???

  • @1559godhead What?

  • @plasmidsheep Was responding to some lamebrain comment posted here but can´t remember which (slightly pissed at the time). For the record, am Clash fan and bought this as b side to english civil war when it was first issued.

  • @1559godhead Oh, fuck, I thought you were calling this shit or something. xD

  • I just call them a band becuase they did EVERYTHING

  • clash at its best..washes out those hard stains..

  • I really thought music was free domain? Plus the middle class is dead.

  • Topper made that band what is was. Fucking genius.

  • not only punk...the clash it's a big band.

  • NO、1 PUNK BAND

    MY BEST BAND

  • A middle class posuer ripping off a reggae classic.

  • @malcolmcog reggae = love ;)

  • @malcolmcog You're stupid, stupid.

  • @malcolmcog its not where you come from its where u are at.

  • One of the few "Punk" bands i love, The Clash was somethin' else.

  • this is no one hit wonder and neither is the cover, one is a god in the skinhead movement and the other will always in my eyes be a god in music

  • The Clash mean more to me than anyone could ever know... apart from perhaps another fan.

  • @townofed From one fan to another, I hear ya!!!

  • @townofed si comprere amigo

  • @townofed the clash mean more to me than my very existance,,,,,spelll that dude....city rocker ,,,best band e ever pressure drop feel it

  • Strummer is god.

  • they also did the fucking best covers

  • And God gave us Rock and Roll,so glad I was born in 55, the true year of its birth, Long live Rock and Roll, Berry, Lennon, and Strummer . Go away rap , britney, madonna and bring baby bieber with you. I'm pretty sure God has every Clash LP too and listens attentively ! • this is insanely good. love Toots & The Maytals and love The Clash

  • pressure gonna drop on me....

  • It's like the white elephant in the room though isn't? I mean, sadly, Joe looks disabled in the 'artwork'....

  • The Clash are still the only band that matters.

  • EVEN THOUGH I LISTEN ONLY TO REGGAE AND AMBIENT MUSIC THIS COVER ROCKS DA FUCK OUT OF ME

  • Oooooh yeaaaah!

  • God bless old punk. RIP Strummer!

  • The Only Band That Matters

  • fucking love it ...when I wuz a wee punk (age 11) through the Clash and watching Revolver on BBC 2 I got into Reggae...2 of the 70's most working class full on musicical styles that had something to say (and still do) in a sea of mediocre pop shite

  • @angstgoose It's sad that so few people listen to old reggae, ska, and punk. Now they just listen to whatevr is trendy, it's sad that 14 year olds aren't smarter than that.

  • @brethren133697 I wasn't so smart at 14 but from 14 to 44 year olds, its so crap how many people rate their music on Idols / X Factor stylee muzak. We all got internet, dig deep and there's some amazing music to find, not just what the record companies tout.

What is sad is amazing DIY bands slog away for years and never get any recognition and some we 'cock' wins X-factory and makes millions : ) oh I am a bitter old man

  • @angstgoose your right real music should be reconised more

  • @angstgoose

haha i guess im a bitter 18 year old, then. but i think it's good that majority people dont listen to this type of stuff, cuz then it would just be another lame trend. but i get what you're saying. just when i think i wont be surprised anymore, another one of those lame 1 hit wonders comes around. the stupidity of my generation never ceases to amaze me

  • que versión man cula pailas parcero la cago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @maconTHC : are you out of your mind? One of the GREATEST covers ever! The Clash were one of those bands that made excellent covers--- Police and Thieves is another great example!

  • I like the 19 dislikes....it makes the bar look like a lit spliff..

  • E 7th Street and Ave A, in Manhattan-across from Tompkins Square Park-not far where there are punk shows all summer. Good times!

  • this picture of strummer's memorial is the 2nd most recognized picture in punk rock'n'roll. The first? the London Calling album cover. R.I.P Joe, you changed the world

  • I remember seeing Mick Jones quite a few years ago (i'm 19 now) At Kings Cross or Victoria station I can't remember really, I was only visiting London. I was too scared to go and speak to him, even though he knew someone as young as me (13 at the time) had spotted him he carried on walking! I thought he would have been happy to see a fan so young and so many years later still playing the clash!

  • my dad has smoked spliff with joe strummer, just saying, I know no one cares, but smoke some weed and you will

  • this i wasnt expecting ... i like

  • nifty

  • strange i heard this version first! and then discovered toots , so thanks guys.

  • this is my favourite cover by the clash while police on my back is a close second

  • Amen Brother. Greatest cover of all time.

  • Now even when I hear the original I sing it like,"It is you you you!"

  • The DJs in my favorite bar in Va. Beach would play this in the early '80s, & the whole crowd would sing the "AHHHHH Oh Yeah " parts. Brings back many drunken memories!

  • love it its great but joe strummer wasnt born in 1932 so well done to that person give yourself a cigar!

  • @theleeman07 the memorial painting there say 1952 not 1932 haha

  • cool! now with trumpet

  • @bilat86 I think I hear a sax in there too.

  • 17 dont like... so stupids

  • @katiekurick

they are not underrated at all. a lot of ppl listen to them not only punks and other alternative ppl....

  • It´s good. But i prefer "white men in hammersmith palais", anyway Izzi stradlin cover is better.

  • @p1ngu1no I'm so glad to hear someone say that, izzy rocks the hell out of this song

  • The clash is the most underrated band of all time.

  • @MikeFromRLC cheers i found it on the cd "super black market", ta anyway

  • @kronenburg77 Black Market Clash

  • If you liked Pressure Drop; you have to hear Steven Sparks do his version. Drummer Paulie does justice with his vocals. Paulie will be going back to Jamaica in Feb to collaborate with Yummi Bare.

  • Big ol shout out to toots and the maytels for writing such an incredible song.

  • why do Englishmen wear panties to the pool and beach??...OMG!!...man up Dudes

  • I loved this song so much - the "B" side to the English Civil War

  • this is ok . not nearly as good as the original though

  • I think it sucks, but then again, I'm a big reggae fan. For other nice covers, check out Guts' dynamics cover of And the livin is easy..

  • Grandissimi Clash !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Clash to the max! God rest Joe Strummer's soul. We all miss ya Joe!

  • rest in peace joe. Today is the anniversary of his death.

  • Maybe the best cover ever.

  • Izzy Stradlin (ex gnr member) made a cover, right? but he only uses lyrics, everithing elese is diferent...

  • what muppets you are, grow up.

When I heard The Clash play this (my first hearing) in 1986 I was amazed by how this was such a shift of style, such a great rendition, such a great dispaly of musical talent. This foreshadows London Calling for sure!

Listen to 'Julie', 'Police and Thieves' and tell me this isn't a shift even if it was a cover....

  • @mongo88now88

Actually.... this cover was released on their Black Market Clash EP in 1980 shortly before their Sandinista album.

So in a way, it foreshadows Sandinista more than anything.

  • Google ... "THC Cures Cancer"

  • Joe Strummer... what a legend.

  • hey this imagew is on a wall in the lower eastside of Manhattan NYC I pass it everyday, miss ya Joe
