  • @tv444me ... Water sealed? Do you mean a water bath canner? No need to precook em and they should be put up in a pressure canner to be safe......Donald

  • Where did you get your pressure cooker?

  • It was a great year for tomatoes I love it. I got a all American 921 we tested it last night with some pears and worked great. The only strange thing was, where the water was in the bottom it discolored the pot and the rack Is that normal? Thanks Rob.

  • @Unclebobs2 … Nothing to worry about that’s normal. Both of my canners did the same thing…..Donald

  • Hey Donald, after sitting on the sidelines for a few years I've finally got in to canning, after seeing your video. Planning on starting with 80 lbs of tomatoes from the garden. Thanks for all of your great videos. Rob.

  • @Unclebobs2 … Canning is a great way to enjoy your vegetables even in the dead of winter. Also comes in handy when you planted just a little too much of something. : ) ……Donald

  • where did you get your pressure canner? I'm looking for a really good durable pressure canner that will last me a LONG time.

  • @creekboysmom ... Do an online search for All American. Expensive but worth every penny......Donald

  • What is the shelf life on them there Purple Hulls Peas?

  • @MrMunchiemo … The experts say that vegetables that are canned start losing some of their flavor after about a year….. Donald

  • Gotta love that big canner I could have sworn I was able to sqeeze 22 qts in there last year, maybe not the smartest thing to do. Great video

  • Thanks for the video Donald.

So what's your thoughts on what happened to the Rawesome food club in California this past week? They were raid and 3 people were charged with bogus charges.

You can read up on it at the Natuarl news dot com site. Pretty bad! Codex alimentarus and UN agenda 21 is gonna kill us all soon if we don't do something quick and stop the corruption in our governments.

  • @fabforceone ... Most of my thoughts on what the government is doing today are negative so I try to stay out of politics until election time. Apparently this is what the majority of people want in this country because they keep electing the same politicians. Wait until the politicians bankrupt this country, I won’t feel sorry for any of em (voters) when their bellies start growling....... Donald

  • @webcajun I hear ya Donald but I'm pretty sure you know that it doesn't matter anymore who you vote for.

Especially now with your new SUPER CONGRESS! they are pushing for. Up my way in canada they are calling it Jesus and his twelve apostles....lol...It's not funny but ya have to laugh to stop ya from going postal...Anyyy wayyy. My 2 cents.

    Fab

  • @StatenIslandSlim .... Thanks......Donald

  • Great video, as always.

  • @TheOntarioGardener ... Thanks.....Donald

  • I don't know squat about canning. I guess you did put water in the canner but how much? I probably won't ever do it but I sure enjoy watching your videos and learning something I don't know. Maybe some day I can help someone else with what I learn from you. Thanks for your videos.

  • @specialks1953 ... Always follow the directions that come with your canner. Usually 1 1/2 - 2 inches of water is all it takes.......Donald

  • @webcajun - Thanks Donald!

  • Great video! Thank you for making the canning process seem less intimidating!

  • @GardenMatreshka ... To those just starting out canning I suggest starting out with just plain water in a couple of jars. Once you do it the first time and see just how easy it is (always follow the recipes/processing time) you're an old pro.......Donald

  • Donald, when i grow up, i wanna be just like you. lol..

  • @MrDoberman101 ... lol.....Donald

  • I have Calif. Blackeyed peas and they look just like Purple Hull.I'm woundering if they are of the same family.Mine are about a week out yet. My first time growing them. When I was a boy 60yrs ago I remember mom fixing them a lot. Can't wait

  • @donswank ... I love those purple hull peas......Donald

  • What do puple hull peas taste like in comparison to other garden vegetables?

  • @nolies99 - I can't speak for anyone else but they taste pretty much the same as blackeyed peas To Me. I don't really know the difference. I guess if a serving of each was put in front of me at the same time Maybe I could tell the difference but all I know is they are Both GREAT when properly cooked and seasoned!

  • No Joo-ly field trip this month? I really enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from them. Somebody is good with the video camera too. -Eric

  • @ELHIEGER1 ... Did mostly individual stuff in July. I've got a 3 legged camera man........Donald
