I hate Agile guitars. A lot of them look like vintage guitars (Fenders and Gibsons) but they have crazy thin flat necks, like Ibanez metal guitars. Since I'm not a 14 year old boy living in a trailer park, I'll have none of that.
This is a great video! Can you post more with amp, and guitar, or whatever other guitars you may have? I'd love to hear the overdrive channel on this amp.
For me , its very difficult to judge an amp by the description. Thats why one needs to go and play with your favorite guitar and different amp settings. Separate tone settings for each channel and separate volumes for each channel.
I have to upload a sample of the gain channel. Its got a bluesy drive feel. When I need less drive I use the drive channel, else I use HomeBrew PowerScreamer or Fulltone Custom Drive2
Hi, amazing playing. I'm looking at getting the Agile AL-2000 and can't decide between the 2 p90's or 2 humbuckers (duncan or EMG). Can you compare/contrast the different tones of these pickups? I play only clean, no distortion, kind of bluesy funk, r&b/soul, which is best for that? Thanks, great vid btw..
Judging by the music genre u like playing, you may find the P90s a little noisier than the rest and the 2 P90s has no noise canceling pickup selection. I listened to the sounds of the pickups on Agile AL-3000M CSB Duncan Jazz on the Seymour Duncan website. I found this sound more favorable to my style than Agile AL-3000M CSB Duncan 59 . For your genre I would recommend the latter. Good Luck.
@loyolaschool thanks, I had heard they can be noisy, but heard no noise on yours. I didn't know it was because of the 3rd P90 gives you noise cancelling. From what Kurt at rondo told me, with 2 P90's, in the center position the pickups act as reverse wound and reduce hum, but he also said no P90's are ever entirely noise cancelling. I play all style of music, so its more about the sound of the guitar, than style its intended for, and after more listening, I think the HB's are too bright.
@jgk381 u r right. I have P90s and selector 2 and 4 positions give me hum canceling options. I will not sacrifice the tone :-). A little noise can be taken off at the board by the sound person.
@loyolaschool I really love the tone of the P90's, so I think I'm going to try it, and try to deal with the hum, in exchange for a great tone. Thanks for the tips.
IMHO P90s sound good for blues and classic rock. They have a fat sound so may not be best suited to heavy metal. I prefer to use very few or no pedals so all I have is my guitar, amp and vol/tone controls to get the sound I want. I will be uploading sound demos of the Agile 1000 (twin humbuckers) after I receive them to give u a feel of the difference in sound.
To get the clean sounds from the P90s, I turn down the volume on the guitar. However no one can beat clean tones of the Fender Stratocaster, that I use a lot for the clean guitar sounds and recordings. A Strat single coil will beat a P90 on the clean sound any day
Was wondering how you like the P90s on that Agile? Was thinking of picking one up with the P90s but was worried that it would lack bass response. Was also considering the Agile AS-1000 (Gibson 335 style).
That's a mean equipment and youtube audio probably does not do justice to it. It was wonderful seeing you play the guitar so well. I remember you for your vocals at school and this is a revelation. I did see your earlier album as well. Haven't stopped bragging and sharing you with my current friends. Hope you remember me though!! I still love music though I do prefer good old KK and Mohd Rafi to blues and country!! Keep going!!
TP of course I remember u. You used to sing Hame Tumse Pyaar Kitna so well. Thanks for your kind words :-) I will change my lenses in my next years medical plan.

Love my Agile. Cheap enough that if it'd been a dud, I probably wouldn't have cared that much - but what a great instrument.

are these the stock pickups?
seusicha 1 year ago
Yes these are stock pickups. I have just adjusted the individual pole pieces to balance the output of each string.

@loyolaschool How do you balance the pickups to the strings? I've been trying to figure it out!

What is your opinion about the super texan compared to the description from the website? How is the amp on the gain channel?

By classic rock do you mean classic hard rock or classic clean rock? I play alot of open arpeggios and strum alot of melodic chords.
