The surface has been iradeated and poisoned by nuclear,chemical and biologycal weapons,but if you feel like wearing a gas mask for every minut of your life then go right ahead and live in a sky scraper that might collapse at any moment after 20 years lack of maintanance,the Metro atleast alowes you to breath,live and there isnt much threat of a total collapse due to gravity,as for the monsters/mutants,all you need is a good baricade and a few competant soldiers to shot muntans.

When this game first came out, i played it in carrefore, just to see if it wuz good. I started from the beggining, and the game completely involves you with fear. when yr using the trolley to get to the other station and that wierd thing makes everyone else black out... i almost pissed myself.

@RenownedRyan It's set in Moscow, Russia. No Soviet... Well, kind of. After the disaster happened (Nuclear war I think) people began occupying the Subway's. Some tried remaking the old Soviet Empire, other's wanted a Nazi world. Most the people are neutral and just fight for their lives. The surface is toxic and you must wear a gas mask above ground, which is why you'll be underground most of the game. Overall, it's a pretty beast game! I think I speak for many people by saying "GET IT"!
