This week, Angela Hewitt is playing in her hometown, Ottawa (Canada). This is exciting for Angela and her many fans.

This recording is so beautiful and inspiring.

The tempo isn't really that slow. It is marked as Larghetto ( around mm. 40)

Some editions even say mm. 40 or less.

This is a bit slow, but some of you are commenting as if this Angela Hewitt is the same Angela Hewitt of today. She has gained thirty years of insight in the mean time. Check out her current Chopin recordings on the Hyperion label. They are amazing.

Too many agogics for Chopin. Overuse of them tends to make Chopin sound trite. IMO

I'd really be interested in how and where from you have all these videos. Are you very old and recorded them yourself? Do you have access to the Chopin Competition local archives? :-)
