Use mineral oil on the blade to inhibit rust. You don't need a lot, just wipe the blade... it won't be enough to cause stains. Mineral oil is best because then it is nontoxic if you use your blade to cut food. You may also want to check out the Skeletool which has a bit driver but is also very light.
@MilPic1 You're welcome. They also have a 154CM stainless steel blade if you buy the slightly more expensive Skeletool CX... so you wouldn't even need mineral oil. :o)
Nice multi tool. I have the Charge AL with bits and extension. I like options! I recently bought "Smiths pocket blade sharpener" for my knives and it works nicely. My S&W M&P blade was getting dull. Smith's pocket sharpner, sharpens serated blades as well. Thought you might want to ad that to your gear.
@JimmyGunXD556 got some Gerber sharperners, for free ;) but i keep it in mind Jimmy !By the way, got some nice new Toy today, gonna show soon, you have the same one, SOG ;)!!!!
@MilPic1 Nice!!!! About 5-6 months ago I bought the 3 pack from SOG - shovel, saw, and axe. $59.00 US on eBay. It fits great in my Rush 72. I need to get my BOB/EDC Bag vid up ! I have had 46 subscribers for a year now, so whats the hurry ! LOL !! Have a great day !
Well done review, thanks! The steel is 420HC it is a higher grade of 420 stainless. The HC stands for "high carbon". Still, very corrosion friendly, should be oiled well, otherwise a great tool.
Waves and the more inexpensive line (Fuse, Blast....) I've seen damaged from everything ranging from normal use to crazy ideas. Bits, knives, handles, can openers, pliers - you name it and I've probably seen it. Benefits of a multitool being one of the major tools needed lol.
Only failure I've noticed on my Leatherman Charge...it rust to much easy!
Animal or vegetable oil does not help you neither.
i have not had the same corosion problems but i take good care of mine, if i get it wet i open it up and let it dry.
