base XJ6 with more power, and only two doors. I wonder if this car with it's 5.3 L 12 is any match for an XJS? The XJS may beat it off line, but I'm sure once you get the 12 going in this, it could catch an S.
Ok, I'm sorry, but these cars are so much cooler then the XJS. These cars were pure class. In fact, they should have made more of these, and scrapped the XJS. The XJS was not a good car in my opinion mainly because it was such a let down visually after the gorgous E type, which was an almost impossible act to follow. This car however made a much better effort at it then the XJS. This is what Jaguarism in the 70s and early 80s was about. This car had such classic lines as it was short wheel
Wow. Just wow. She is one STUNNING XJ-12C. I bought an 86 XJ-6 that I am going to restore, and man I hope I can come even close to this baby. She is stunning.
I do have a Jaguar XJC 5.3 1975 and its one of the maybe 5/600 left I think. Keep in mind only around 1800 were producted. This one came from Switserland and has done only 110.000 km. till now. I ow the car for 5 years now and enjoy it very much with around 2500 km a year. I'm sure the value of this model will go up since it's indeed William Lyon's last made model.
I also have a '75 XJ12C. Best looking jag, without a doubt. Should have made a million of them!! Perhaps they wouldn't be owned by INDIA now!! Sheesh!
I almost ejaculated when I watched this video. This is a dream XJC. The series II was sir Williams Lyons last design. The series III was designed by Pininfarina. Altough I have an '94 XJ40 to me the series III Saloons are the most beautiful cars. Will buy one for sure. (only a Vanden Plas)
I have a XJ12L also, sometimes I wish it was a coupe. I bought it from the PO because I hated to see it in such bad shape the interior looks good and the paint is ok for a driver but the mechanicals are so neglected, shocks bushings ball joints and so on. working to slowly get it driving like it should. Its going to be a hoot to drive once I get it right.
price?

ericou812 11 months ago
@ericou812 no sir. 6 cylinder also available and a more popular option because it's more reliable.

the biggest fault was the roof lining coming down they used crap glue.
dracula0091 2 years ago
@dracula0091 That was the X300, and it wasn't crap glue, but rather the layer of foam between the ceiling and fabric decaying in hot environments.

Jaguar always made great looking cars, but the build quality was dubious, especially when BL took over.
If the build quality matched the looks they would be the best.

Hey, what did you have to do to fix the gap when you removed the vinyl top?? Mine still has the top on it and it's rusting the metal, for sure.
