So listen to 1970s; Skyy,Dynasty,Shalamar,Aurra,Chic,Sister Sledge,The whispers,Change,The early SoS band, the early Prince albums,The Sylvers,Brass Construction,The Barkays,Delegation,Tom Browne,Quincy jones/Rod Temperton productions,Heatwave,Deodato,One way,ect ect, then check out the thousands of uploaded 1970s Soul Train funk videos, then come and tell me what you think Jamiroquai invented 20 years later!
@ortiznyc No but there is no doubt that this is a clone of late 70s Funk, that much i can tell you .And Its totally true that most of the early Jamiroquai stuff comes from Stevie Wonder ,Roy Ayres and Patrice Rushen. Anyone who knows the Funk is aware of that and even he (JK) admits that they were some of his influences so why is it hating?
@LordBrony Really? Go back and listen to Stevie Wonders songs in the key of life album. And while your at it listen to mid 70s Roy Ayres, Issac Hayes, Johnny Hammond, Earth wind and fire and Patrice Rushen to name but a few. Granted this track isnt exactly Stevie wonder, its Kool and the gang ,Isley brothers and Nile Rodgers with a bit of the Brothers Johnson thrown in but stevie led the way to this style of groove .Jamiroquai didnt invent this. Its 100% 1970s Funk.I KNOW I WAS THERE.
Yeah we've got an emergency on planet Earth alright...too many people have lost good taste in music! They would rather listen to shitty half-assed dance tracks than songs with real messages and remarkable musicians behind them like this. Let's put an end to this raging epidemic and give it up for one of the greatest bands ever created...all hail Jamiroquai! :-D
