@batmanmarch i know now I was watching the episode lastnight to make sue, I realy want it, i've just bought this on ebay for £30-unboxed i'm afraid but...
I always try to get 2 of a figure I want to collect, 1 boxed, 1 unboxed. But how can you bear to keep him caged and not play with him or put him on display? In my opinion, toys are meant to be played with, and while I agree with keeping an extra to collect, I think it's a shame when people leave the toys in the boxes never to be used :(
The prices are a disgrace. I can't believe I can actually say this, but my mum used to tell me my Transformers were too costly and that Doctor Who figures are good cus they're cheaper.
Probably more for North Americans, since we have either this or be forced to deal with ebay scalpers who wanna cut our throats for current and classic figures.
Probably not, tesco sell all the rubbish ones that everyine already has at full price e.g Donna, ood, Donna, Ood, sontaron thats about it oh yeah without collect and build parts
i got the real time doctor at the london forbidden planet he other day and whe inside the o2 i got the figure out along with my captain jack sdcc figure and troughon b/w and notied that there was no sonic lance so im gunna ask titch to take it back for me and replace it
also to get the other 6th doctor variant and the daleks collector set 2 and adventure set
you should take them out there boxes as they were made to be used if you leave them in there boxes a few years later they will be no good as the articulation will be too stiff to move and the colours can start to change so your 6th doctor might end up green insead of blue lol so i would take them out but keep the packaging trust me i did this with a figure and i wish i never did it as it changes colour and and ruin the figures
Well if I don't plan to take them out of the box, stiff joints aren't going to be a real problem. And the colour only fades when displayed in direct sunlight, my brother has boxed Star Wars figures from 14 years ago and they look the same as when they were purchased.
A superb trio of reviews there, Matthew. I was really looking forward to this figure. Completely unexpected and I really like this version of his costume. I was lucky enough to get all of the figures (except the B+W versions, as I didn't want them) in Forbidden Planet in London.
Yes, they were very well stocked with all the sets. This is most likely because the Shaftesbury Avenue branch is their flagship store. They were limiting purchases to one of each set per customer.
i wondered if someone could help me out im wanting to make an 8th doctor custom figure but i am needing colours of the cravat, waistcoat and the trousers.
i know his shoes should be black a white shirt and dark green coat im using a 5th doctor figure ive removed the cricket jumper and put on professor yanas waistcoat and im going to use miliput to make his hair.
im sorta going off doctor who figures now. they are becoming a bit babyish collecting toys. i will still buy the odd exclusive. like soon im going to cardiff and im hoping to pick up some of these or a new torchwood figure. but i dont think im gonna collect the normal ones. i need to grow up a bit lol! not saying any of you are childish lol!
I think they used a blue version of his costume was because Colin himself didn't care much for his original one and that the blue version would be much easier to animate. Best of luck with the series mate, I'll definitely be watching :)
Thanks mate! I still like his original. Colin originally wanted it to be black and grey but John Nathan Turner insisted that they make him extremely colourful. But the blus one is a lot nicer than I originally thought.
Awesome reviews! Do you think you'll get the new 6th Doctor in the muddy 5th Doctor costume (from Caves of Adrozani)? I heard it may only be available here in the States but not sure.
Thanks! I'd love to get the Androzani Sixth Doctor. I'm crossing my fingers that it will be available in the UK as well but if not I'll have to go onto ebay or whona.
Great review, and I have got to say that your TARDIS is amazing. I like the figure, but it seems as though they are bringing out far too many Colin Baker figures, that have only been in one or two episodes. Yet, I love them all, and am glad CO are keen on producing more.
Yes the prices are way too much. Its really annoying that so many Classic figures have been released during the same time at such high prices. Will you be getting the new Dalek set, Fourth Doctor set and Caves of Androzani Sixth Doctor?
I will certainly buy the Fourth Doctor set and the Dalek set. As for the Androzani Sixth Doctor - possibly but £14.99 for a variant I'm not that bothered about is a little bit much.
i love the real time i prefer this costume to the orignal myself but thats me , it would of been nice to see the 6th doctor to of worn this costume in the actual series though alongside the orignal costume i dunno whever i will get this one yet , great review 5 stars
wow your luckey my mum only said i can only have 1 of these out of the new classics i dont no which 1 to have but watching your review i think ive made my mind up i think the patric in colour will do thanks for your review helped me alot by choosing
