Then today I got a call, they want to interview me & they said I need to bring a model & do the look they select on her. I'm super excited and nervous, but confused that I'm doing the makeup application part of the interview on my 1st interview. Is that normal? they didn't say if its for freelance or a position instore?
And whats funny was there was girls who went to school to do makeup and theyre models didnt look good at all.. Plus they had us trade modelz.. That was challenging lol.. But was worth it.. :D

All I did was turn in my application and the manager asked to chat with me right on the spot and since she asked to pen me down for an interview I guess I was interviewed right there? But anyway, it is SO exciting and thrilling and you just have to have confidence. I looked like hell but I still managed to impress just w/ confidence!

You are SO cute!! I am interviewing for Bare Escentuals and the process is kinda like MAC's (I have to do the working cosmetic interview today) so it was good to get some tips/pointers. My DREAM is to work for MAC long-term (at least 7 years) but I won't get to try that on for size until I move to Denver where there is more opportunity. There is only 1 MAC counter where I live and its almost impossible to get on there. Anyway, thanks for the tips, you are a GEM!! :)
well i'm from England.. we don't have "cosmetology licences" over here. you go to college or make up school, get your certificate and youre qualified. but like i said.. you have to be a qualified makeup artist over here to be considered for a job at MAC.
thanks for posting your interview process it was GREAT!!!! I was wondering abut the hours that you have to work. I sing and travel on the weekends like twice a month. Are they flexible and will they work with you, if you are willing to work other off hours(like work at night during the week day or open in the mornings)?
I was wondering if you could do a mock..interview..such as maybe having a picture and starting from proper sanitizing and maybe suggesting for sure products to grab during the interview :)

ive never had to luckily! but i have on clients and i use POSNER concealer .. the consistency is very thick and it doesnt really smudge on clothes. also face and body by mac does not transfer ( not to sure about the coverage tho) Makeup forever total coverage concealer is a GREAT choice as well =)

I had a question I was hoping you could help me with. I went to a free standing MAC store and asked them if I needed experience to work there and she told me yes. So I was wondering if you meant that you don't need experience for regular MAC counters at department stores? Or freestanding stores too?

when I fisrt started i was told the same thing at a MAC STORE. you need experience to work there.. for a counter no experience is required. it's basically stages. You have to work at a counter before a store, and at a store before the PRO stores. Def go and try a counter first =) Goodluck

Great video and right on time! I am a nurse, but want to do make-up on the side! I called the M.A.C. counter today and spoke with the manager and she was super nice1 She said that me being a nurse was customer service and that I could come in to talk with her and bring in my resume tomorrow! I am excited to start this journey! How should I do my make up to meet with her though?

a freelance is bascially on-call when an employee calls in sick or they have an event then you would work., Reg. artists have regular hours, and are on the schedule. =)
You really went through a process for your interview. Guess it depends on which MAC you're applying to. Where I am, I did the face-to-face interview and mock interview the same day. Had to do a day time look and then using only 3 products turn it into a night time look.
That was great advice, it is always great to get advice from someone that has been in the there. I missed your videos...glad to see that u r back girl ;-)

Great video girl! I just have one question, I heard that if you work at MAC that you can't do makeup videos on youtube. Is that true? Someone told me that they say this because they don't want your opinions that you give in your videos to come off like they are the opinions of the company. Just wanted to know because I have been thinking about putting in an application and I make makeup vids on here. Thanks so much <3

...so anyways, after all that which took a total of about 4 hours (lol) I am scheduled to have another interview with the district manager next weekend, if she's back on vacation in time that's the plan. So I'm SO excited!!! It was so unexpected!!

I want to apply at the only MAC counter here in Omaha,NE but I feel like Im not ready yet. I think I would do good just with a bit more practice, plus im bilingual which would give me bonus points haha. what do you recommened i do to get more help with doing correct makeup application?

dont know if you ever have to cover your tattos, but if you do....... do you know of a good tattoo concealer that wont get all over ma clothes. ty

ive never had to luckily! but i have on clients and i use POSNER concealer .. the consistency is very thick and it doesnt really smudge on clothes. also face and body by mac does not transfer ( not to sure about the coverage tho) Makeup forever total coverage concealer is a GREAT choice as well =)

you need to stop playing Pretty, your makeup tut's are the TRUTH...they need more people like you and Bailey. I am tired of going to counters and stores where the artist is incompetent . I had a question I was hoping you could help me with. I went to a free standing MAC store and asked them if I needed experience to work there and she told me yes. So I was wondering if you meant that you don't need experience for regular MAC counters at department stores? Or freestanding stores too?
I want to really start doing makeup, but I find it hard to get a job because I have no experience. Please help! Any advice would be so great! Thanks!

when I fisrt started i was told the same thing at a MAC STORE. you need experience to work there.. for a counter no experience is required. it's basically stages. You have to work at a counter before a store, and at a store before the PRO stores. Def go and try a counter first =) Goodluck

Great video and right on time! I am a nurse, but want to do make-up on the side! I called the M.A.C. counter today and spoke with the manager and she was super nice1 She said that me being a nurse was customer service and that I could come in to talk with her and bring in my resume tomorrow! I am excited to start this journey! How should I do my make up to meet with her though?

a freelance is bascially on-call when an employee calls in sick or they have an event then you would work., Reg. artists have regular hours, and are on the schedule. =)

You really went through a process for your interview. Guess it depends on which MAC you're applying to. Where I am, I did the face-to-face interview and mock interview the same day. Had to do a day time look and then using only 3 products turn it into a night time look.
