  • figure skating is more graceful. he should switch to it like tara lipinski. he could be an olympic champion.

  • i like ice skating. when you do it on roller blades, it limits what you can do.

  • you definately need to watch more artistic roller skating

  • he is amazing!!!

    such great choreography!

  • he is a really really nice guy !! and im so glad he made the podium at worlds almost every year he skated since Jr.

  • is his boot a ice skate boot, you know... like my boot is an ice skate boot, ice skate boots are solid! not floppy, and the heels are a little bigger and they have sort of a pointi-ish toe, where roller skate boots have a small heel and a round toe and are not solid, there floppy!

  • most of his combos are a jump then loop loop double loop or is that triple.

  • His spins are incredible!!! I really thought he deserved at least 2nd at this Worlds!!

  • ice skaters rule ,

  • i prefer roller

  • well i like both now hah, i never knew this exsisted, its absoutly amazing:O

do u like use a stopper instead of a toepick. and

it must be alot warmer than figure skating lmao

  • and the skates are alot heavier than ice skates, 1 of my skates is 2KGLS so both together is 4kgls!

i did both but i stopped ice, i prefferd roller.

  • Hey, no need to shout. I AM a roller skater. I'm just considering both points of view as well.

  • Why don't you just focus your appreciation into his excellent performance rather than running down on his looks. His costume is part of a coreography and interpretation of a theme. Please people, grow up, open your mind!

  • I am thin and I still think this type of costume is inappropriate for male skaters.

  • The skirt it to feminine for me. With the flamenco music, costumes should be simple and choreography more masculine. I agree with you. He could do without the skirt thingy but I do love is reverse layover camel spin. I wonder if I should try it on ice.

  • In team sports, the audience expects male athletes to dress like men and not like women. I don't think this is a good costume to wear for a competition. I'm a woman and I wouldn't wear that at all. Besides I believe judges want male skaters to portray a masculine and macho image. They tend to favor that and this factor can help a skater win.

  • first of all, you need to get all your facts straight before you make a stupid comment like that one. every skater ice or roller champion have worn costumes like this one. the reson why you probably would never wear something like that is because your probably too fat to wear something this form fitting. stick to layne bryant stores and try weight watchers or jenny craig.

  • why r u such a h8r!!!

  • I wonder if top ice skaters could do triples on roller

skates. I don't know if could, though maybe Tara

    Lapinski could.

  • Tara used to roller skate before she took up figure skating ^^

  • True, but most ice skaters don't try artistic roller

skating as well. They know it's a lot harder and that

they won't be able to go to the Olympics.

  • I suppose if they have Olympic dreams they might not, but actually quite a large number of skaters at our club also do ice skating ^^ Sometimes it helps with posture, but it definitely doesn't help with spinning technique, I've noticed.

  • How does ice skating help skaters that do artistic roller skating?

  • I think ice skaters tend to have stronger backs for one thing, and possibly (although this is just a guess) are more confident. All this helps to be better at roller skating. Strong backs help in parallels and holding onto the landing of jumps. I think if skaters do ice skating though, it can either be beneficial to roller skating, or not, because of the difference in the feel of skating, and the amount of pressure that needs to be applied to the skate in comparison.

  • Artistic roller skating is a lot harder than ice skating. Many artistic coaches want you to be talented from the beginning to see if you have what

it takes. If this boy did ice skating he would be even better and who knows maybe be good enough to go to ISU Competitions, make real good money and maybe

    shoot for the Winter Olympics.

  • Atleast your never catch a figure skater in that outfit. my mom shoot the person if they tired to make me wear that.

  • I'm a girl and I wouldn't wear that..

  • He is good, but looks really gay!

  • What's wrong with him looking gay? So what. Who cares? I'm gay, I don't skate, and I don't look fem, but I'm happy. Not all gay people are fem in mannerism!

  • He definitely is a good athelete. I wish looping off the toe stop hadn't become acceptable, it look unclean to me, I don't care if he is doing a tripple. It took too long to see a spin ( and men shouldn't do inverted camels even if they can, IMHO ) Nice heal camel.

  • Wow! Truly incredible. It's amazing to see what this young man can do on roller skates. My daughter is a figure skater, so I am familiar with many of the jumps and spins. It looks difficult on wheels (it's not easy on ice either!) Great job Daniel!

  • No, it is way harder on roller skates. I am an artistic roller skater and it is 3 times when you get out on the ice. Ice skating is easy; that's all the proffesionals on ice do triples.
