its a shame htc are not using sirfstar III gps chips in there phones as they are more accurate than the qualcom gps chips by about 10-20 metres. They are good enough for navigation when driving but sirfstar III chipsets in north america with was enabled support you could berry something and record its co-ordinates and go back years later and find it again. you find qualcom chips won't be quite as precise as sirfstar III so if you need maximum precision go for sirfstar III gps

I love this phone, but there's one thing that bugs me - the screen goes on when you get an SMS. So if I get a SMS when out walking, my pants will touch the screen and the phone starts calling people and do lots of other stuff!

For the price this phone is fantastic.I have 8gb card for albums and video and the sound is superb,ok some progs take a few seconds to load but that dont bother me.Gps takes a while to connect but once connnected Tomtom works great.

@rightheous That error is to do with automatically obtaining network settings. Either the phone's from abroad, or it wasn't released on your network. Somewhere there's an option not to show that message again, I've had the odd HTC that's done that. Just input the GPRS / MMS settings manually.

I got this phone on a second hand site. The guy who had took great care of it and it had zero damage, plus a new battary and charger. Using this for some time now and it's the best phone I've ever had. Even better then much new phones. I love the keyboard. I got it for 60 euros, haha. Really cheap!

wi-fi connection is basically your nearest open wireless connection. just think of it as taking someone elses internet and using it for your own. NO your not stealing, and they're not losing money, and neither r u. your only getting billed if you using ur phones carrier service... this is usually used when you have absolutely no wi-fi service and you NEED the internet right away at that moment 4 something... :)

I own one. I would stay away from it in all honesty..

There is a serious issue regarding a lack of drivers which is the point of a very large discussion with no apparent fix.

There is a petition going around trying to get HTC to produce drivers for this device.

I have horrible lag in video playback, and using the camera in low light conditions is futile.

Windows mobile phones are very similar but the poor performance puts this device in the back of the pack.

Go To Start,Settings,System Tab then Power.

Then Go To Advanced Tab and amend the drop down menu of the "Turn Device if not used for" Tab to 5 mins, see if this makes a difference.

Also amend the Backlight Settings. If this doesn't work contact manufacturer their may be a problem with your phone.

It's pretty durable but for extra protection. I got a hard aluminum case off ebay for about $20. I ride motorcycles and ATV and have droped it several times. I also put a lanyand with a clip that I clip on my jeans. Great combo and love the phone
