Wow- this is awesome. You should consider documenting the build process and adding it to the great tutorials on Instructables [.] com. Keep up the good work!
This is absolutely the best. I know it's been a year since you posted, but I would definitely like to know somemore about this unit. Like how the glass container was built. I have a german shepherd, who has had disc surgery and could definitely use this. Thanks
Fantastic job on the Underwater treadmill. No leaks - bravo! I'd love to know how you built it and what kind of treadmill you used - it's shorter than standard...
The treadmill was a 10-year old Proform 770 made by Icon in Utah for sears roebuck. I used a hacksaw to cut the treadmill frame lose from motor/controls and replaced the short DIN belt with a 66" version of the same belt. I used 3/4" allthread to then raise the electronics up out of the water. I used a 1-1/2 HP spa pump and 2" PVC to transfer the water back and forth between my 350 gal spa/jacuzzi and the treadmill. The spa does the water treatment. Cost me $2K.
What keeps the motor or whatever runs the treadmill from shorting out or charging the water?
