@salud279 Everyone has their opinions and preferences on which TV tech they think is better, at the end of the day however as long as your happy that is all that matters. As far plasmas breaking easily, I can't answer that one, but just like cars I'm sure there are a couple of lemons out there for plasma, LED, LCD, OLED, etc...
@NuVega5 Hi I'm curious how your tv is doing now? I really want to get this tv but I'm hearing lots of complaints about bubbling of the interior layer? Like a thin sheet of plastic showing bubbles from heat. I haven't seen any other plasma on the market I want but this one but concerned.
@TEAMGODdotNET Umm, I wouldn't know where to look if my TV is doing that, lol. TV is working fine since I bought it, if its bubbling then I guess it doesn't affect the TV, but yeah, never heard of this bubbling issue.
@NuVega5 I was reading reviews on amazon and it had 8 bad ratings some of which said they had this bubbling effect of this layer of plastic which is supposed to prevent the glare in between the screen. See this tv now with a coupon for 1067 and want it but... I would hate for that issue to pop up.
@NuVega5 1 more question man I always used Samsung lcd never really liked it compared to the old crt's for gaming. Do the new plasmas suffer from any burn in at all?
Sorry for all the questions but I have just one more. I read some reviews where people report a buzzing sound coming from plasma TV's (especially when it's displaying a white screen). Have you noticed any of that with your PN51D7000? Thanks again!
I'm about to return an LED because of the light bleeding form the edges (the Samsung 6420 model). I'm really thinking about getting plasma but am afraid of getting the screen burned in. Have you noticed any of that on yours? How likely is it that the image will be burned in forever if playing games or watching channels with tickers like ESPN? Thanks!
@buccianti You may possibly get image retention, but shouldn't get any screen burn in. TV comes with a screensaver and a scrolling feature that get rid of image retention faster, but it'll eventually go away on its own. So far this TV has been great, its a keeper in my book for awhile, until the next greatest thing comes out.
@NuVega5 How easily do you get image retention and how fast does it go away? Say I play a game like Halo for a few hours, would the map be stuck on the screen for a while? Thanks again!
@buccianti The map won't be on the screen, but the HUD or life bar, weapon choice, etc...anything that doesn't move with the screen may be. It goes away real quick...I usually just tune into normal TV and then I won't even notice, it disappears after a few minutes, no burn in. The TV has a screen saver, pixel shift, and scrolling feature...if you can still burn in an image after using all three I'll be surprised.
@imapreetybird I use a sound system for the sound, and yes, the picture still amazes me, best thing IMO is that the picture looks exactly the same sitting from anywhere, unlike LCD and even LED based TVs. Yes, the price was steep, but figure I'll spoil myself for the time being, lol.
@thedivekid78 You can't go wrong with either Panasonic or Samsung really, but from what I'm understanding, the best Panasonic plasma literally rivals the Pioneer Kuro, which till this day is the best plasma TV out there. Just depends on what your looking for...and sorry, still yet to experience 3D on my set, but have seen it in the previous generation of this TV, and it was quite good.
Im buying that tv for my ps3. How many 3d glasses does it come with when you buy it? And when you buy more 3d glasses, does it have to be samsung or no?
Hey, I was looking at this model as well. I have a sort of general question since you said you received it in the mail. I was wondering who you ordered from? I am looking to order online since it is cheaper than Best Buy, but I am a bit apprehensive about having it shipped (afraid the shippers may disregard the contents of the box and lay it flat or just in general throw it around). Thank you
@chorman406 Bought it from Dell.com, delivered with no issues, it has more than enough padding in the box, and the delivery company will actually tie it down to the side of the truck to where it doesn't move...this model wasn't in stores at the time of purchase, reason for ordering it.
Hey sup man i was wondering what your thoughts were bout this television now that you had the set for a bit, have you watched 3d movies and played gaming in 3d, how was that ??
@WarhawkLegend69 I have not yet, though I have watched a movie on the previous 2010 model of this TV in 3D, and I was quite impressed. I could only think or assume it's just the same if not better on this model.
Funny my TV 7 year old LG Plasma just died today! Cant see anything just black. Sound is alright. Seems time to get a new one.
Please tell me shall I get a Plasma or LCD. I had the ghosting issue with my Plasma and over the time the black level was just unbearable.Dark or night scenes were unwatchable. I want to know why did you choose Plasma over LCD?
I still think Plasma produces awesome colour fidelity. But has LCD progressed over these years to match Plasma?
@SouthFacedWindows Sorry to hear about your TV. Personally, I like plasma because of the deep, rich colors, and the wide viewing angle. I've had LCD TVs, and the colors on the plasma are much better. LED is awesome, but still suffers from poor viewing angles if not viewing head on. If your viewing the TV head on, LED or Plasma will work, viewing from extreme angles, Plasma would be your best bet IMO.
@SouthFacedWindows Also, if your worried about glare, then you may want to consider LED/LCD too, since they produce less of it compared to a Plasma. The Samsung 7000 series however seems to eat up glare very well, it isn't nearly as bad as compared to earlier year plasmas.
why does the picture have waves in it?
dlambert317 2 weeks ago
@dlambert317 It's the camera I used to record, in real life there aren't any waves in the picture.

NuVega5, do you have an Xbox 360 or PS3 hooked up to it? If yes does the tv 600 Hs refresh rate make the games' motion silky smooth?
kikayei 3 months ago
@kikayei PS3, and all my games run fun without any motion lag, trails, or any other defect that I'm aware of.

does it get too pixellated up close? How close can you sit to it without it losing sharpness?

@MeestaBojangles No not at all, even at 3-4ft away the picture still looks sharp. I'd say 5ft I guess, I sit about 9 away myself.
