  • i wish i was there. i put alot of time into that game and i wasnt even there to see it all end. RIP SWG

  • wish i was there aw man im gonna miss that game

  • I had no idea they closed Chimaera, i used to play years ago, but never even got messages from Sony about this.. Were you able to move characters/houses to another server at least?

  • @grimmah1978 Er no, the whole game has closed down.

  • @sunteam I had no idea. I thought Sony wouldve at least informed old subscripers of it via email.. I havent kept up with the game for years, obviously.. Sad to see it go though, have some fond memories..

  • Nice! Thanks for posting this. I'm the Spy in the back row. Bahh played since day 2 on a US server then we all moved to Chim so our guild (old XWA guild) could play together. All the ppl in that vid were holdeing SWG's hand as it slipped into "connection to server lost" as we would an old friend.

  • wow, Wing Chun is there... This guy had a house next to mine on Tattooine. Brings warm memories. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • i hope they bring it back........ somehow

i had good friends on there

  • Wish I was there. 7 years of my life that was more important than my real life...

  • aww, i miss my nihm <3

  • Chimaera was my main server back when I played. I feel like I should've been there. Very sad to see it go.

  • its like minecraft when your trying to find a server to play on. if you find a decent one awsome!! but at the same time you know that unless your the owner of that server it will eventually come down at some point, thus losing any time you put into it..... its prety sad if you think about it

  • Lackluster. :(

  • why did the closed the game ?

  • @nicodriver97 SW:TOR, money, etc.

  • @nicodriver97 Bioware when they signed the new license for SWTOR had a clause that slipped through Lucas arts that said they could be the only company running any type of starwars based MMO. so they Bioware and EA got SWG shut down. and it was due to the the previous LA president (who is now fired for that clause) sealed SWG's fate long ago. The EA/BW TOR license takes effect on release day the 20th. so SWG had to be shut down or SONY coul have been sued by EA/BW.

  • @ChrisBeeize thangs bro :)

  • @ChrisBeeize No Sony chose not to renew their licensing agreement with Lucas Arts which is why they shutdown.

  • It was sony that shut it down, right?

  • i played swg for 7 years i will truly miss it...

  • Was good times. Peace and good luck to all.

  • all those years Wasted and hours wasted. are MMOS really worth 5 years of your real life? specially wen you get nothing @ the end of it all?

  • @suprhero1 Well people didn't sit 24h a day during five years at their PCs.

  • This is pretty sad.

  • Even after NGE the game offered so much for those willing to give it a chance.

  • Theres my poor wookiee Tarff rip buddy. thanks for making and posting this :)

  • badgersmaker got his wish..the game was killed

  • It's sad.

Never played SWG...but I know people that did. I still say when a MMO closes down, and the servers are gone. The server side software should be released as abandon ware.

    Thanks for the look.

  • Nicely done!!

  • @Neodestro This game was released in 2003, matrix 2005.

  • @Neodestro LOL Fact Checking Fail

  • wow end of an era...i quit after the CU, came back for NGE for 2months then quit again.

Pre CU SW was the best but it didnt have any quests all they needed to do was add quests thats it!
