I wish your biceps and forearms were bigger. Also outer calves... Abs need a bit more cut but you are WITHOUT DOUBT one of the BEST bodybuilders I've ever seen! Your striations are FANTASTIC imo!!!

Awesome progress! Looking ripped bro. Hamstrings are looking better but they still need some work grasshopper. Everything else is a winner. You are cutting right now aren't you, cause if so more definition will come through. For some reason maybe it's the camera angle or something but it looks like your holding a little water weight or something in your hamstrings. Close to perfection. If u can give us a weekly diet example or atleast a whole day of what your eating. Keep it up and good luck!
Your arms, back and shoulders look incredible! That front double biceps pose is gonna be unstoppable. Same for the rear lat spread. I'd say your hamstrings need more definition, but everything else looks great! I think you'll be there in seven weeks, and I hope you take home 1st place!
You are doing wonderful but the split in the middle of the calves is lacking. Try laying on a bench stomach down and doing calf curls with a partner holding a towel for resistance. Does wonders along with raises on machine. You are gonna win it because you believe you are. Awesome positive mental attitude Darin!

The slightly distended stomach he has is probably the bodies natural and internal adaption to give some protection to his organs. I have had a six pack since the age of 9 (I was a whiz at climbing things). My stomach also distended quite a bit when I was young(even with a damn near 8 pack) slightly more so than his. It lessened as I stopped climbing as much and got older, but my defined stamuch still slightly distends to this day.

@iAmStrengthlyFit just so you know there are many things that can cause a distended stomach other than taking gear. Something tells me you'll just ignore whatever I say, so if you really want to know ill reply to this, if not, go read some doctors literature and the findings of the american medical association. The pro bodybuilders do have huge guts due mostly to gear, true. But its not always the reason
@iAmStrengthlyFit early male pattern baldness?? he is 45, it is normal for a lot of guys to have male pattern baldness by then, i know some people who were totally bald by 35!! plus it is not that unbelievable to have a body like his after 30+ years of exercise. he is natural, get over it.

So he started at 15, and then continued to grow muscles until now, at 45 years old, and he has the test left to do this? This literally makes no sense. Do the math. darin if you can try and flex your abs when your doing double biceps even tough the judges focus will be at your arms their still gonna be looking at the rest of you. You would just look more impressive this way

If you want the serious critique, lower body needs the most attention for this show, upper body looks fantastic.
Mr. Steens all the hard work your doing looks awesome! i would say the calves are the only real body part that doesnt need a whole over haul just a little tuning up. but seriously great work!
well that's a problem with bodybuilding, if you're skinny you get real tight abbs, if you're heavier you get a bit of bloated belly but still have lots of definition

nutrition is such a hassle for me. any idiot (like me) can go to the gym a lot but since I'm not eating enough protein I'm developing skin tear near my armpits although I use a lot of whey protein to supplement it still doesn't fix my problem, any idea on what I'm doing wrong?

like you said you need some more size in the hams. some more sweep on the quads, some more width in the back and maybe some more size on the tricep lateral head, some more hams and glute seperation which will be more apparent when u get a little closer to the contest. regardless of all of that you look amazing, very good conditioning for 7weeks out. good colour aswell. i wish you all the best for you contest
This abdominal wall removal really fuck up your figure in general but its not like u can do something about it.I think u must add some muscle at your traps!!!
To all those talking about his abs - he had to have a kidney removed earlier in life and they went in through the left side of his ab wall, that's why his right abs are more defined.
Darin, overall, you look great man. The hams and calves need work though because in the video they look soft and undefined compared to the rest of the body that looks dense and defined.
Darin, try a much darker coloring cream. Also you will need to dehydrate your body soon enough to have a thinner skin look. Other than that, dont forget your Arnold pose, its incredible, BEST OF LUCK TO YOU
I see Darin you have naturally thick waist - has there been anything that has helped you getting it tighter? I consider myself having thick waist too, so I would appreciate advice.
@crackasx2 I know what you mean m8, the point I was trying to make is this: He is an endomorph, one of characteristics is thick skin, Darin might be reaching a very low body fat % as it is, but because of thick skin it looks like he still has a little bit above range. So once he dehydrates the skin will become thinner looking. I mean dont get me wrong you might be right as far as 1 or 2 more percent.

To all those talking about his abs - he had to have a kidney removed earlier in life and they went in through the left side of his ab wall, that's why his right abs are more defined.

Darin, overall, you look great man. The hams and calves need work though because in the video they look soft and undefined compared to the rest of the body that looks dense and defined.

Darin, try a much darker coloring cream. Also you will need to dehydrate your body soon enough to have a thinner skin look. Other than that, dont forget your Arnold pose, its incredible, BEST OF LUCK TO YOU

@crackasx2 I know what you mean m8, the point I was trying to make is this: He is an endomorph, one of characteristics is thick skin, Darin might be reaching a very low body fat % as it is, but because of thick skin it looks like he still has a little bit above range. So once he dehydrates the skin will become thinner looking. I mean dont get me wrong you might be right as far as 1 or 2 more percent.

you're doing fantastic Darin, id say work on your hips, lower abs, lats, hamstrings, calves, triceps, and quads, and your back shoulders, teres minor/major, i dont mean to sound nit picky, i think your bodies progress is amazing but all im saying is keep on getting bigger and more lean lol cause your doing awesome and ppl can defiantly tell
