Probably not because Fai isn't a Japanese name and his name is spelled either "Fye" or "Fay" by CLAMP and the other Japanese companies. Fai was a fluke by Del Rey.

I'm sorry, but I disagree with that comparison. 'Serena' was the name chosen by DiC Entertainment to localize Usagi, and really IS her 'English' name, the same way that Nelvana made 'Madison' Tomoyo's English name in Cardcaptor Sakura. It wasn't romanized for the sake of English speakers, it's just how CLAMP wanted to spell Fay's name, the same way they spell Syaoran or Sakura or Kurogane, when they choose to write with roman characters.
