Not really. Some horses will be more balanced when the rider is on the correct diagonal. But some saddle seat horses (like the one I have) are so balanced that is is hard to tell what diagonal you are on without looking. I really can't feel much of a difference. Anyway, only in equitation classes is the correct diagonal absolutely essential.
i thought the lineup was hilarious. trust me, they know the physical toll on the horses. but you have to keep in mind that they were trained for this, so they aren't just thrown into this on a last second basis.
I know. I've been involved in the training of a few national level English horses. ;) But after the HA English at USN this year, I can say that I will die happy.
just for english pleasure in general, does the posting diagonal at trot count?

I love how they booed the lineup. Hahaha. I hope they realize how hard work like this is on the horses??? Ah well, I wouldn't want it to end either.

I used to do saddleseat and was being trained in five gaited. Now I know what it really is. I knew then but was thrown into it.
