Only after he is sure Neo is dead does he make a smart comment and walk away.

After all that occured in the film, how dominant and predatory the agents were throughout, that beautiful end is the equivalent of a male and 2 female lions toying with a baby antelope and it turns around and rips the male lion's head, cooly, confidently. The two female lions (the 2 agents) then commence urinating on themselves.
I find it mind blowing that the same guys who wrote and directed this, made the next two pieces of shit, reloaded & revolutions! It makes me wonder if they just fluked this masterpiece!
Could it be that in Revelutions, that Neo became Smith on purpose? Like he figured out that the only way to destroy him is to become him or something? Like here, he jumps inside of smith, and in the last movie, Smith change him, then he explode. Right? Like here? I think its connected somehow.

One can clearly see that the ammo fired by the Desert Eagle were blanks (the brass case ejected is crimpled on the end). They should have spent the time to digitally fix this small issue, especially if they were going to film such a closeup view of the weapon's recoil from being fired. They spent a lot of money on this film's great special effects, shame they skimped here.

He has to fight the entire Matrix, which explains why Smith became so powerful. Karma is a word, just like Love or even Destiny!
Hey if you could, upload the entire fight between Neo and Smith from The Matrix Revolations the final fight, that would be good only if you can and hopefully good quality because I'm trying to do a video.

The point of the film was to free people and end the war.

If I remember correctly, there is a time whereby Neo got a glass of water out of nowhere and drank as he was easily blocking Smith's punches at the end of this video. If that is true, then I really miss that part.
Fucking love this movie. Hits something primal. The transluscent, sometimes abstract anger we have towardst having to conform to systems and customs not of our own making and those who would censor us and our self expression. Not to mention the anger at all the compromises we make to our dignity and personal ethics in the name of keeping our jobs, etc.. Seeing Neo reach that moment of absolute clarity and strength after being tormented the whole movie was just fantastic.
thought Smith said chicken about Neo but then i realised he told the other agent to "check him" :) plus i love how Neo's monitor keeps reading normal even when his heart has stopped.
The thing that makes this scene is epic is when he simply says "No." because Neo finally understands the Matrix, he finally gets it now. And when he sees everything in code, he is in awe because it makes sense to him and he understands his purpose and now knows that he is The One....Great movie, its sooo deep!
Smith just broke the stupid villain cliché, he shot Neo as soon as he saw him, he unloaded the entire clip into Neo and then checked to see if he was dead. And only after he was checked did Smith then make the cool statement.
This is what bothers me about this whole series. Neo becomes the one in the promise in freeing everyone. That's his 'mission statement' in the end of the film. Fast-foward to the 2nd, and we see him being complacent and enjoying the sun in this stupid and unsustainable underground. Everything gets lost so much into these silly story devices. "The keymaker". "The old man with lots of TVs". It all loses meaning.
And in the end? Its just the cycle of the same. Humans and machines perpetuate.
@jpusar To be honest, I expected Neo to be freeing people from camps, or joining Morpheus into his crusade in freeing people from the Matrix one by one. More emotion.
But maybe that was the point? That all this was a distract humans from being too rebelious by giving them a slice of rebellion, while giving machines a fighting purpose of existence. That all those "keymakers" "old out of touch dude" and "oracle" are to distract a glitched human from freeing everyone. Using prophecy to blind us.

This movie was so groundbreaking when it came out. I think most of my muscles tensed up when I saw him get back up and stop the bullets, saying to myself, "Yeah, finally, get those mother f*ckers". Everyone can relate to feeling bullied and tormented by "official" systems and instituions.
It's like they thought "Hey, people enjoyed the fighting scenes in the first. Let's make two movies without a subsequent storyline and just fill it with slow-mo fighting" ... They sucked... Ass.
@forreforre Actuallyk, the amount of philosophy behind the whole triolgy is unbelievable- it just takes a philosopher to expalin fully. There are enough ideas for a dedicated philosopher's commentary on the Ultimate Edition, and it's packed with information.
And people simply enjoy fight scenes anyway, in the midst of a story that carries all those ideas.

If I remember correctly, there is a time whereby Neo got a glass of water out of nowhere and drank as he was easily blocking Smith's punches at the end of this video. If that is true, then I really miss that part.

Fucking love this movie. Hits something primal. The transluscent, sometimes abstract anger we have towardst having to conform to systems and customs not of our own making and those who would censor us and our self expression. Not to mention the anger at all the compromises we make to our dignity and personal ethics in the name of keeping our jobs, etc.. Seeing Neo reach that moment of absolute clarity and strength after being tormented the whole movie was just fantastic.

thought Smith said chicken about Neo but then i realised he told the other agent to "check him" :) plus i love how Neo's monitor keeps reading normal even when his heart has stopped.

The thing that makes this scene is epic is when he simply says "No." because Neo finally understands the Matrix, he finally gets it now. And when he sees everything in code, he is in awe because it makes sense to him and he understands his purpose and now knows that he is The One....Great movie, its sooo deep!

Smith just broke the stupid villain cliché, he shot Neo as soon as he saw him, he unloaded the entire clip into Neo and then checked to see if he was dead. And only after he was checked did Smith then make the cool statement.

This is what bothers me about this whole series. Neo becomes the one in the promise in freeing everyone. That's his 'mission statement' in the end of the film. Fast-foward to the 2nd, and we see him being complacent and enjoying the sun in this stupid and unsustainable underground. Everything gets lost so much into these silly story devices. "The keymaker". "The old man with lots of TVs". It all loses meaning.
And in the end? Its just the cycle of the same. Humans and machines perpetuate.

@jpusar To be honest, I expected Neo to be freeing people from camps, or joining Morpheus into his crusade in freeing people from the Matrix one by one. More emotion.
But maybe that was the point? That all this was a distract humans from being too rebelious by giving them a slice of rebellion, while giving machines a fighting purpose of existence. That all those "keymakers" "old out of touch dude" and "oracle" are to distract a glitched human from freeing everyone. Using prophecy to blind us.

This movie was so groundbreaking when it came out. I think most of my muscles tensed up when I saw him get back up and stop the bullets, saying to myself, "Yeah, finally, get those mother f*ckers". Everyone can relate to feeling bullied and tormented by "official" systems and instituions.

@forreforre Actuallyk, the amount of philosophy behind the whole triolgy is unbelievable- it just takes a philosopher to expalin fully. There are enough ideas for a dedicated philosopher's commentary on the Ultimate Edition, and it's packed with information.
And people simply enjoy fight scenes anyway, in the midst of a story that carries all those ideas.
