  • MORE episodes of SAM PLEASE!!!!!!. The answer to an earlier question was YES!,Mark McManus did indeed play Sam as an adult.

  • The other places were Gin Pit Village nr Leigh Lancashire, and the bull ring Fryston colliery Castleford west yorkshire..

  • I can remember them filming this, it was filmed in two different pit towns,, the opening scene where young Sam ( Kevin Moreton) is running up the pit fields was filmed in Featherstone nr Pontefract West Yorkshire and on the closing scenes it was also Featherstone,Ackton Hall Colliery, i know this as my Grandfather had a bakers shop on green lane Featherstone,and when i went to visit on occasion,was the film crews

  • @TIBBSY me too tibbsy,i was a child in the 70's,but well remember all the tv-programmes then,music,fashion,etc. its my favourite decade...brings back great memories....hot summers too,especialy 75 + 76! fantastic decade/time!

  • i watched every episode of this series bas the last one. one or two of the actors didnt live much longer after the series finished-althea charlton & Michael goodliffe for instance !
