"its nobody's business" there, crystal clear. he didnt overreact, it was the interviewers fault for pressing the question, a question that wasnt so important that he had to keep pressing it. Thom told him to shut the fuck up because he needed to shut the fuck up, case closed.

I disagree. I don't think that Thom had overreacted. Sometimes when you want to stand your ground over a certain subject, certainly if it's personal, you have to bark at the scavengers to let them know that this is your part of the highway. Otherwise they will keep coming back.

@6sixsick Well, the thing is the band was at the point of an emotional break-up at this point, and so Thom Yorke was feeling really bummed out, because he took all the blame onto himself. But yeah, the rest of what you said I agree with.

but that's the thing, we dont NEED to know about the band's difficulties or anything, they're amazing musicians, and we've become fans of Radiohead because of their MUSIC, not the way they get along with each other or anything, the interviewer just wants to get stuff out of him to create gossip just like it happens with the more "popular" bands. That's what I love about Radiohead, they play music, and that's all you know about them. That's how it should be. Long live Radiohead.

The thing is, if you watch the whole interview, you can see that Thom's being really honest and giving a good account of himself. However, there comes a point where he wants to draw the line, and what's wrong with that? We all have to stop giving of ourselves at some point, when it starts to feel uncomfortable. I think he deserves respect for taking that stance.

I think it's a form of disrespect to ask such personal questions. Don't you think Thom's life is enough known by everybody ? Could he have a bit of privacy ? Thom has gone through difficult periods with the band, and asking that question was not necessary. But in some other way, he's been rude. If I was the interviewer I'd have bursted into tears. But, I mean, this guy must not be a radiohead fan to be such an ignorant...

But you only know of the band's difficulties through questions like these. And, in the end, Thom made his solo album and it helped find a new direction vocally for "In Rainbows". I think he's a good interviewer.

The interviewer tried to get an answer out of him, fair enough. He finally asks why not and Thom gives him a straight answer. Fair enough.

But then he keeps insisting? Thom made it clear. It's not him being moody, just becoming pissed off by irritating persistance.

I guess radiohead are like a family, since they've been together since their schooldays and are a very close band. so I suppose trying to get thom to talk about difficult times in the band isnt too far off from asking the interviewer to explain to the world why he's going through a rough patch with his wife.
