Finally got access back to my old account!! OK website discontinued over a year ago when sold set up. Am now rebuilding a smaller sim as restricted time. Short throw projector for front view bounced off a curved mirror so screen could get close to plane. Trialed monitors for side views - worked great - awesome addition
are you using projector for front view?I would like to correspond via email.Ive been reseaching home cockpits for months.Yours looks great.Do you have monitors for the side windows?
@tomek1158 wasn't too bad, for a small aircraft like a baron, its not a big deal landing past the fixed distance marks, the only problem is that he wasn't centerline, and even that isn't too big a deal. if this was the 737, then yeah, it would've been a terrible landing.
Since you don't have physical dials in your cockpit, you should really consider getting a virtual co-pilot to assist you via voice commands.
Try something called "Multi Crew Experience" (for which a 7 day demo is available) and you will see what i mean. Byebye keyboard and mouse. Hello voice control for FSx and FS9. Never mind being able to "talk" to ATC.
Technically, all you need is a headset with microphone.
Ok one, Why have a default GPS within a aircraft that dose not have one and when trying for a realistic cockpit if going for a 737. Second way off center-line of runway and super low graphics for the default version of TNCM.
GPS - I like it!! I do what I enjoy, not a tech nut. I do panel swap though as I please, including a full 737 fascia which changes the whole MIP to ND, PFD, upper EICAS etc. 737 is the long term, but needs to fly in the interim! Also, easier means my 7 yr old can cope with it. I think we can all see landings are grim! Again I fly to enjoy. Graphics - dont forget these are spread over an 8ft length curved screen to increase peripheral visuals. They are actually set quite high.
thanks I looked at it for quite some time. Im only 16 and just got a job so I can start building it. The one ive been planning out for a few months is quite similiar to yours so your website will help with the building so thanks a lot and do you fly outside your sim?
Thanks for comment. Started this in Nov last year but used a lot of stuff from an earlier project. The biggest cost was the short throw projector and PC, although the PC is 2 years old now. Most of the hardware is sourced from ebay - difficult to put a cost on it, but given that a lot is self made, not as much as you might think - the cockpit shell was cheap really - simple wood products from a local timber merchant. see my website for more details
