yeah i'm downloading 3.1 right now. hope it'll work proper. tried ubuntu 7.04 weeks ago but i couldn't even install it. didn't even started the live cd. but i'll try today... :D
are those black stripes only on the video, or also in real? what graphic card do you use? if nvidia, was it easy to install the gr.drivers? i use mandiva linux right now but i wanna switch (mandriva is pretty good, but the company behind it is a bit too much capitalism for me)
I run Linux Mint Cassandra, which has Beryl already installed. To get those cool Desktop effects you just need to hit some keyboard keys, and you can also use the build-in Manager.
Beryl has moved onto compiz-Fusion (CF). CF has more cool effects.
how custom this is?
i mean can i take that jittery wobbling away?

cgsblog,
If you could not launch Ubuntu 7.04, it seems that you might have burned a bad CD. I always burn at nothing faster than 8x. Try that with Linux Mint.

cgsblog,
The black stripes on the video show-up because of the frame rate that I used when recording with recordMyDesktop. I've since improved the quality.
Might I suggest that you try the latest version of Linux Mint called "Celena". It has Beryl / compiz-fusion right "out-of-the-box".
I'm using an INVIDIA card on a Notebook. To install the necessary driver is very easy with Envy, which is to be found in Linux Mint.
I hope that this helps you.
