@broncosfan1580 - I understand, sorry about that. Personally, it felt just like any other car in the morning. However, with the OEM hardtop (which has a liner vs. many aftermarket ones which do not) kept the car warmer once it was heated up. Keep in mind that it was noticable to me, but it wasn't something that I would concern myself over. You generally don't want to use your convertible top when it's cold. It could crack, especially on the older S2000s with the rear plastic.
@broncosfan1580 - I'm not sure I understand, the engine will heat up pretty much the same as any other vehicle. Remember, the S2000 only comes as a convertible. The hardtop is an aluminum piece that is added after the fact. Honda has them for just under $3K and there are aftermarket options as well. It's ever so slightly warmer with the OEM hardtop, and your stereo will sound marginally better due to the enclosed space. But no other difference. It's roughly 45lbs for the OEM hardtop.
@theangrybanana07 - Yes, snow tires on all 4 corners. I no longer have this car, it is with it's new owner in California. No more snow for this car haha.
@ahmedshamoo hey man i would greatly appreicate your honest opinion. I live in Nebraska and we get our fair share of snow. What do you recommend a winter beater or a good set on winter tires? from your video the winter tires seem to work great. Do you have anymore experience winter driving the S?
I just got an s2k in may of 2010 and getting ready for the winter in Northern Nj and just bought some new blizzak lm60 for my car. I dont plan on driving it if theres more than a ft of snow but i like the convenience of taking out in the if necessary instead of buying another car as a beater. Im hoping they work well cause its my daily driver . We had one 18in snow storm last year so i'm hoping the $600 investment in tires work lol if not i'll let you know lol
@29ryan49 - Yes, with dedicated snow tires you can drive around pretty much normally (obviously slower than normal and with caution though). The only thing you really have to worry about is deep snow, as the car can get "pulled" toward it if your tires are in it. Also, if you have a low car, then obviously you have to watch out there.
@ahmedshamoo How is it at let's say an intersection with some decent snow/slush. I think any car will swerve around in deep snow. I let a friend pass by and went in a merge lane to let him pass in my FWD civic and it still decided to swerve around and act all twitchy.
@29ryan49 - Actually, with dedicated snow tires, the car is a totally different animal. You should give it a try. With snow tires, I am able to maneuver and handle better than SUVs and AWD cars very easily. Even accelerating up a hill faster and easier than them. You must literally TRY to spin your tires with snow tires. Even if you do, you still maintain total control.
@ahmedshamoo Damn that changes my view on getting an S2000 (after getting the snow we got over the past 2 days I sorta started looking at S4's, Evo's and R32's) But now I can get my S2000 :)
@ahmedshamoo We had over a foot of snow and really deep ruts on most of our side roads, I'm guessing the S wouldn't handle that, being low and all correct?
@29ryan49 - It's more of a problem of your front bumper turning into a snow plow, which may damage things (if you have a lip, etc). The tires and car physically handle the deep stuff just fine. The snow in my area is plowed relatively quick.
Yes sir. I also got that on video when it happened too! It's been cracked for a while, but it isn't compromising my view at all. I don't need an inspection for another year, so I'm in no rush. I know it's cheap too, I'm just lazy. :P

Nice! Just sold my 07 ap2 as well. Other than the 1st to 2nd gear crunch when cold, i loved the car! I wouldn't dare take it in the snow however.

did you fix that crack on your windshield?

@Jarvmanbronx960 - The car has been sold since about June of 2010. But no, I did not end up reparing it. New owner did for ~$175.

Have you ever driven around 60mph on snow like this? Our highways were covered until they eventually thawed.
