  • I wish we would have done one for the guard, it was crazy especially since the only experience I had before crown was one indoor season. But if I could go back I would in a heartbeat. cmfcg!!!!! Also I went to basic combat training for the army and thought it was a cake walk compared to crown.

  • heeyy i finally found it =D

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! my favorite part was air only =(

  • what happened at the first big hit? I heard nothing...?

  • @Betachiken

They didn't play so they wouldn't blow their chops for the competitions.

  • @Betachiken most drum corps tell the band to not play certain parts so their chops wont die on them sense they are playing all day long

  • my favorite crown show besides the one I marched... Ya'll killed it

  • I love how everyone starts the show at minus one....very nice. A good entertaining show...and the big grass hit at the end of Candide was to DIE for!

  • @NoblevsBlckops this is a compilation of our production runs from finals week - we didn't do a full run through at rehearsal that whole last week

  • great run!! 10:41 TIM SNYDER!!!!! he works with my high school band during fall season

  • All of Crown's awesomely weird body movements make this insanely entertaining... along with 4:12.

Also, 5:40... "ensemblize" is a new word for me. I like it. I like it a lot. I'll have to use that sometime.

Also also, 7:23- 8:21, I was out of breath just watching it.

  • I love the high note you play too bad they took it off later in the season

  • i'm doing this tomorrow at my Munford HS band rehearsal :D i'm a dude though and not gonna wear a sports bra. i have a Kodak Zx1 though and its shaped kinda like a cell phone so i'm just wrapping a cloth belt around my chest and putting a little tape to the cam and the belt.

  • What's the song in the very beginning?

  • @Jiaxis overture to candide.

  • awww 1:06??? didnt wanna blow the chops?

  • @jck1794 I don't think anyone was playing :P because if everyone was playing except her don't you think you would've heard it?

  • is that trevor sindorf in front of you at the beginning?

  • nice 2:09 lol 4:12

  • hahahaha (4:11)

  • It's not just trumpet players alone, everyone's tired when you're marching that fast putting out that much air.

  • well, when their air stream is affected, it's very noticeable b/c it's so small compared to the larger horns, thus it being more noticeable.

  • yes because the instrument uses less air so you can go longer without breathing.

  • i was wondering the same thing.... haha

  • yes the stuff with built in sunblock

  • I thin svolypet´s theory sounds more possible!

  • Whats happenend at 1:06? No incredible Brass sound that blows our head out?

  • They didn't play the chord because they needed to save their chops. Especially since this was during the last three days of tour, according to the info.

  • omg did she say what I think she said at the end? "Like I said rolling your mouth right away, they're gonna do this one more time."

  • lol the girl at 1:23 looks topless

and there r no fat ppl lol

  • I know, that scares me lol. Fat people probably pass out quicker.

  • @FSUfanOFtheBAND

Some corps don't allow fat folk. Also you lose a SHIT TON of weight during tour.

  • Ah thanks a lot! That makes me feel more determined. >=(

  • Well as long as they can prove themselves musically and physically at camps then they'll be fine. But for a World Class Corps you're asked for so much more than open class in both areas so you rarely see and overweight person in World Class.

  • The guy at the end, not playing an instrument is Tim Snyder, he works with our band with our brass. We sound good, but next we year we are going to be amazing!

  • 4:12? what did he say?

  • sounds like he said

    sri i dropped u poorly

  • I wish my 3rd trumpets played this well

  • hahaha, amen! I can't even get mine to play half the time.

  • Its so strange, your tone is incredibly better when you are playing licks and the melody than when you are just playing whole notes. so strange.

But great job, i love seeing these, especially crowns. :)

  • Are you a 2nd part? You don't sound lead.

  • i'm not sure if that was meant to be rude or not...but look in the description. 3T5 meaning third trumpet, number 5. correct me if i'm wrong though

  • No it wasn't intended to be rude. I was just making sure if it was a lower split of the lead part. And different corps have different coordinate identifications. So how would I know that it was suppossed to mean 3rd?

  • haha.... I love the "bra" cams... awesomeness

  • Lol at first I thought the first impact was sooo loud it broke the mic then I read the description

  • shucks, i wish a phantom member made a video like this at the end of On Air o_O

  • This is amazing thank you!

  • hahaha this is so badass :)

  • LOL @ 4:12..

Speaking as a multi-decade low brass vet, it's interesting to hear the different air requirements of sops.. I mean, trumpets. Us contras never get starved for oxygen.

I keep cracking up at the "bra cam" concept, though... :-D

  • Great perspective! Looking forward to this year!

  • omfg i love wat u did!!! it makes me fell like im right next to you!!!! I love the idea! im now thinking about doing this for our marching band show this summer during band camp!!!! :} :} :}

  • Great Vid! Were you ever beside Kriska on the field? He is bringing me to audition for crown next fall.

  • How much time do you spend on choreography?

Also that was a wierd note starting at 6:58.

  • is it the 9th?

  • You are infinitely awesome for posting this! I LOVE this perspective!

  • you kno ummm i wana do drum core but i kno how to march but not like dis could any1 help me and maybe tell me how u know where to go i kno how to march but idk how to do this kind of..im a freshman in hs so i have time haha yea any one can help me...Please?!

  • go to his page.

  • i've always wanted to do this!

but sadly i couldn't my past two years since i was a cymbal =(

but i have an entire bass to tape my camera on now! hooray!

thanks for posting this video! it kinda let's me how much it takes to be in crown. clearly it's tough. haha

  • heh you can hear her whimper in the beginning.

    haha.

    :D

    this is dope!

  • haha, yes, i whimpered, and it said "pleaaasseee don't make me do this run through"

  • What a difference the perspective gives,,, It REALLY shows the intensity and the effort that goes into the season!! My question is... Did Evan do a Drum Major Cam? That would be interesting to see his perspective.

  • i did that

  • What kind of Camera did you use?

  • Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS

  • You sound really good.

  • If this dosen't make people appreciate and have more respect for our sport then I don't know what will. Not to mention the fact that they are just experiencing the marching part, and not even realizing the demands of playing at the same time. Great Job.

  • hahah hearing all the panting really makes me glad i aged out....ya right, i wish i had 10 more years!!! ....nice job

  • hahaha, oh yeah, and these are only production runs... I hear my panting in this now and wonder how i even made it through the whole show!!

  • im gonna be at the march camp next weeekend!

i'm trying out for one of the last tenor spots. sooo....wish me luck eh?

  • This makes me want to march corps so bad.

  • "I taped my digital camera to my sportsbra..."

Never in the history of youtube has there been a more awesome beginning to a video description.

We were there watching you guys rehearse...great job Crown!

  • I second that. :) (Not the part about being there, but the camera location...)

  • was that rachel you stepped over at 9:08?!?

    love her.

    thanks for a great video.

  • yes! :)

  • what part were u?

    2nd or 3rd?

  • third

  • oooo

  • i LOVE Crown! i would audition for it, but i live all the way in Cali... T~T

    keep up the AWESOME work!!!

  • you're a good trumpet player!

    way to go

  • I marched sop for BK back in the late 90's. Does Larry Shane still talk about the Florida Wave and wear his hat with a flat bill?

  • as of 2006 the answer is yes :)

  • YES

    SOoooo funny!

  • YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. Hahahaha.

  • great video! please add more these are terrific it gives me a good idea of crown and the rehearsel process i hope to soon audition

  • I hope to be in that contra line in a year or two, whenever I can get enough money to cover expenses for tour. Do you know if they are planning on keeping the 16?

  • that's a great idea!

    i adore carolina crown.

i'm in madison right now but i want audition crown for next season :]

  • Nice tone while marching! Good jorb...

  • what did that guy say to you at like 4:12

  • "sorry I dropped you poorly"

we always had trouble dropping me in the right spot after the spin

    :)

  • Awesome! It makes my brain cracks, It something really demanded and you keep the energy and the sound quality with a very strong body job, congratulation to All of You and the Staff. I hope to have something here in Brazil in the.Hey Staff if you have interests to come to Brazil, please let me know to arrange something like a weekend with the Crown Staff for a masterclass, it will be great. see our begginer job in You Tube as "The Witch and the Saint" Santa Isabel is our Band

    See you at Indi 09

  • do you guys pretty much get eaten alive by harloff or any of the other staff if you're feet are out of time?

  • i wouldn't call it eaten alive..

  • oh, well at Avon when he teaches us he doesn't have a lot of patience for that kind of stuff. I can't imagine what he's like to DCI people. Do a lot of people dislike Harloff?

  • Not at all. Matt is loved and respected by those who he teaches at CC

  • it's true, everyone at crown loves and respects matt, he's hard on us and it makes us better.

and, we don't test his patience, our feet are never out of time

  • Amen.

And you just get therapy after a session with Klesch.

  • Nice tone and great work on some of those technical passages. Impressive stuff. Congratulations on a great season!

  • that is badass

  • Get it J-Web!!!

  • ok now that ive watched this i see why are horn players at my school got to run so much this is way worse then carrying a drum and im a drummer thats sayin something lol.
