@mila203 This movie is a little better I'd agree. Acting and writing is better. But the book is much better also, even though they didn't really follow it too well. If this movie would have been made into a movie of the length it needed or into a sequl or hell, even a triology and not strayed from the masterpiece Anne Rice wrote, it would be one of the greatest movies of all time. The movie includes less than 1/4 of the book's material. It's shit. Pandora and the other ancients beside Marius and Maharet don't even speak. And get this -- THEY OMMITED MEKARE COMPLETELY.
The DVD does include some neat deleted scenes that would have made the film slightly bearable, though.
Jesus... this followed the book even worse than Eragon did............. They made Marius Lestat's maker!? How can you possible fuck up worse! besides the fact that it didnt follow the plot at all and screwed pretty much everything up.... i really actually enjoyed this movie =D
Man they really need to redo this and make it like a many series like charmed to tell the story right. Before akasha even woke all the way up she would just move but in her statue form so did enkil. and when akasha crushed the elder vampire who tried to put enkil and akasha into the sun. Which one did and thats what bronzed akasha. She crushed him in her statue form. Anne Rice has to be pissed. Love the book.
Yeah they should just like with Lord of The rings and all those other movies. I'm sure someone will get behind this movie and remake it. I would die of happiness id Angelina Jolie took the role of Akasha. Aaliyah did a very very good job I must admit. There was just so muc hthey left out in the movie. I do like the death scene of Akasha more than in the book though. The book death scene was SO SO STUPID.

Did they go into the ancient vampires's history? With Maharet and Mekare? Is there anything on Enkil the vampire king? Does Lestat become famous?
