Why the argument over the culture? It's a fact that many Asian cultures influence each other. The same as many European or other cultures influencing each other. It isn't established wholly through war, but trade and commerce.

Well, Korea survived and got powerful between 2 HUGE influencial countries, China and Japan. We can distinguish what is Chinese style, Japanese style and Korean style. Japan can learn chinese culture without Korea as medium. Korea and Japan are not connected and they are separated . Japanese can travel by ships to China directly and learn their culture. If they learn chinese culture from korea, then why we can't find sushi, Ramen and katana in korea? Also their building style of traditional buildings are different.

@luibu1989 Because all these Katana, Sushi, and Ramen (btw, Ramen was created in the post-modern era so I don't even know why belongs in the conversation), was Japanese product. When a culture integrates into another, it doesn't mean that the latter adopts all and only the new culture, it integrates with the existing culture or changes a bit from it. Spain once ruled and integrated their culture in South America only 500 years ago. Is culture of Mexico and Spain same?

All those products i mentioned were origated from China. Such as Katana developed from sword made in Tang dynasdy, Ramen are from ming. Since Tang dynasty japan has very intense relationship with china without the need of Korea, no to mention Sang. In fact, Asia would have been better off without Japan, Japan barely positively contributed culturally to Asia, but it did invade multiple times, and helped/caused the Korean war, Vietnamese war, communist takeover of China and cultural genocide. But despite this, in our world's history, that's how it happened.

@luibu1989 Also Japan could've gone straight to China but there are several problems with your hypothesis. First, Japanese boats were horrible in their ancient times they couldn't go that far. Second, historically the Baekje kingdom of Korea had a wonderful relationship with ancient Japan and always traded with them, along with cultures they gotten from China, including Buddhism. Third, during the Japanese invasion of Korea, Hideyoshi ordered many korean captives who had skill in buildings.
