  • Does this still apply to hard drives now a days?

  • I was looking at my computer, and then bucky said "Where are you buddy?"

  • Little elves... This guy is on Shrooms

  • ofc you can

  • Can you install more than 1 hd?

  • you just plug it,, right in here... so were do you put the other one... the end of the converter

  • how many sata ports do motherboards have?

  • @nazqasim

They can have up to 4, at least from my past experiences. I have had some older motherboards with 2 sata ports, but mainly there will be 4 or more ports.

  • 2:39 this right is my swag LOL

  • is it normal for it to blow up?

  • Now just go Ahead and SCREW IT!!!!

  • very bad case

  • he kinda looks like ellis...

  • Everyone, just the SATA type for both the optical and hard drives.

  • Guys, don't be said. This video was made nearly 3 years ago.

  • did u build this same computer? )juz curious. :)

Mayber you missed some connectors or sum of them aren't plugged in properly.

  • pls help me som1, i built it and tried it, just nothing shows up on my monitor, tried vga hdmi and dvi (intergrated graphics) what could it be down to some1 pls help?!!!!!!!

  • smiley face on the case.

  • what does I D E stand for?

  • Little elves

  • too bad, you cant use it as a hackintosh

  • @quantumhm96 What do you know about Hackintosh?

  • @Kalimahala the hardware in the computer is not suitable for hackintosh. you may be able to install hackintosh, but most of the hardware drivers will not work. also the system will be a lot less stable

  • @quantumhm96 I would say they work. Maybe just a bit of "making space". Tho the system would be very unstable.

  • IDE is so outdated now lawl, got a SATA 3 HDD myself xD

  • @makedaevilmage you noob sata isnt even for disk drives...

  • IDE Cable = IDE Ribbon

The cable is the Power Cable.

  • WOW! hes fast during 0:30 - 0:37

  • awesome, love the explanations!!

  • at 3:35 I thought thecase will fall down: D, fortunately the power of his hands was low

  • his sides blue.... i guess he's loyal to the crypts man. lets get him bloods!!!

    jkin man xD

nice work man thanks a bunch

  • how many times do u say hook up???

  • lol these slots, these little black SLOTS that look like.

  • TheNewBoston : Screw IT

    H.D.D : wtf why?!?!?!

  • You are a fast screwer.

  • @JsV95 thats what she said

  • @JsV95 thats what my dads say for some reason

  • @JsV95 thats what she said. lol sorry had to do it.

  • @JsV95 He edited it...

  • @SeaBatch Nooooooooo.. really?

  • good check my gear!

  • Man my Drive C & Drive D is full, how do I create another Drive? Please tell me, how, how?

  • @yosep801 buy another harddrive?

  • great video

  • its ellis from l4d2!

  • imagine all the views this guy would get if he said 1 word per video =)

  • someone is really going to screw themselves watching this because their are no standoffs. he forgot to set slave or master on the optical drive.

  • You forgot to say to configure jumpers on IDE devices when using master / slave.

  • @weisson001 Fast Mode

  • wow how can you screw so fast 0:32?

  • hello can that middle IDE cable slot be inserted in a Dvd Rom ?

  • "Now go ahead and screw it." LOL :D

  • "try not to bend any pins when you're hookin it up" xD

  • Can i get a rating on my parts

    160gb hard drive 720rpm - $37.99

    Motherbored 16gb ddr2 compatiblity - $47.99

    ATi Radion 4650 512mb- $48.99

    AMD Sempron 2.7ghz single core - $32.99

Ram- STill dont know how much or how much it costs

Optical drives- I have my own

    = Total -300 hoping

  • @ilovmc Thats not going to be a very good computer?

  • Comment removed

  • @ilovmc IMHO, you should shoot for a 300-500 gb HD at least, a dual core CPU and 4 gb of ram. those are not as expensive as you would think and, for example, a 1k GB WD HD goes for 69.99 at canada computers. an athlon II x2 goes for 64.99 in the same site, so i'd advise you to wait it out a bit if you're a tad short on moolah and get some components that will last for a reasonable amount of time.

otherwise you'll go nuts with a single core and scarce HD space in this day and age. ..

  • @ilovmc bigger harddrive (i'd say from 320 - 640 GB SATA of course), better processor (which might also mean better mobo), also put in 4 GB in dual channel and install 64-bit windows 7 to get the best expirience... ;-)

  • 2:41 dis right here "is my swagg" lol XD

  • the computer looks like the 90s :S

  • Ok... I have a problem, my hard drive came with absolutely NO wires.

    Help?

  • @DecnamorkeN It's likely OEM, meaning it's just the bare drive. You'll need to buy the cables separately (SATA Power adapter cable, SATA data cable, Assuming you have a SATA drive) most new motherboards come with the data cable; your power supply might come with the right connection if not buy an adapter.

  • WOW!!!!! Nice and neat!!!!! My Brother's friend did this and he made a PC for me and my Mum we now have 2 PCs as we then had a problem with the other one.

  • i used a sata dvd drive

  • lol "now just screw it"

  • if you dont have this port: IEEE 1394-/Firewire

dous that mean that it dousnt have esata?

  • haha kayne xD

  • Hey i have a question, why is a Hardrive so `` Hard `` ? Me and my friend destroyed some dead ones and it took around 4-6 Mace strike and a couple of Brick throw until we finaly destroyed it !

  • Yea physically its nothing, but its intellectual. Gotta know what you are doing.

  • suck my dick thecase is ugly

  • @BrentKolb96 easy bessy

  • easy bessy

  • Lmao, you look like the spawn of Shia Labeouf and Vince Vieluf. :P

  • @weaver2109 and David Duchovny

  • thats what she said at 0:25 !!!!!

  • @TehRSDude grow up

  • @sjoukedde Sorry, I didn't even post that. It was my jackass brother. (he's like 14)

  • @TehRSDude LOL

  • IDE cable is ugly. sata all the way!

  • @spikeguns1 So true, not as big so less heat.

  • what about the graphics card?

  • @firerider96 Probably built in the motherboard

  • IDE cables are so ugly!! go SATA!!!

  • Alright something you guys should know...IDE is outdated. Go to another video for info on setting up the optical and hard drive.. The rest of his vids are fine just these arent good ones.. Please thumbs up so others can see

  • @MrSenorPez what do u reccomend

  • Comment removed

  • @MrSenorPez Indeed, glad those big cables are gone >:).

  • @MrSenorPez so instead of ide what should i use?

  • @marineman825 sata

  • @LHsVideoFX so a sata optical drive? whats the difference?

  • @marineman825 They are slighty faster, but harder to use and install, me, i use IDE, because i have no problem with it and its easy, hooks up with one IDE cable not 3 SATA cables, so its up to use, but IDE is fine and i see no difference in speed or reaction times :)

  • @MrSenorPez Hes already stated hes using SATA 3.0 for his computer. Confusingly enough the connection/ports are still called IDE interface lol

  • Did the drive come with the converter?

  • hmmm what if i have another hard drive should i connect the blue pin to that middle pin of the 1st hard drive connected to the motherboard?

  • @pop3clent most if not all IDE cables have 3 connector on them. 2 are always the same color and 1 is always a different color (usually blue). the discolored connector is ALWAYS connected to your motherboard

  • i have bever heard of a Serial SATA ATA cable xD

  • lol you said screw away

  • omg he still uses IDE. i know this was made 2008 but wtf!!

  • @yscreth55 I can't belive u people r still revolving HDs, cables and isolated RAM instead of static plug-in mem-modules of which you can allocate the integrated 'RAM' area within. Only its no longer called RAM since the whole unit has that capability.

  • @yscreth55 Yeah it took me forever to figure out that theres no ide cables on my computer when i started building

  • He put it in backwards

  • where is the video card?

  • @r2hMisTaKeN The Mother Board Has The Video Thing Preinstalled. So No need for expansion.

  • @CrAzZyCrAcKhEaD but u can install an expansion right

  • @r2hMisTaKeN Oh yes, Because some Mobo(motherboards) come with and without Video installed. so if it doesnt Just get a graphics card and install it and download driver.

  • this computer looks like FUK

  • my mother board has 4 sata slot, 2 black and 2 red, does it matters if i hook it to any of them?

  • 0:14 that's what she said

  • hey i just wanna say i learn so much in ur tutorial i was looking forward to the other video but didn't i learn alot and it sure will help me in class...

  • Computer engineer?

  • man this case is pretty lame

    toolless design for the win

  • Hi, does all motherboard fit in any case? I have an Xion case. I'm going to buy a good motherboard for gaming. so I just wanna make sure if they all fit.

  • @uphill248, I think if you should go back to look at his tutoral in part 11- choosing a Case. It would help you.

  • you should know what size your mother board is and your case compatibility size. there are 4 compatibility size known as e-atx, atx micro atx and mini atx. e-atx is the biggest which 3 other compatibility size should fit in e-atx. but most of the motherboard now are compatible with atx.

  • this is a mini tower, and if you wanna buy a bether graphic card, it would be biger, so, you haven't got enough room.

bether you buy a midi tower, belive me...

  • ok the place you put the hard drive IS NOT called a port. it's a BAY.

  • god your so smart i wish i could be like you.. i wanna watch your tutorial vids on how to make a computer.. oh wait... you don't have any :( but you do have a sweet ass vid on popcorn wooo!!

  • @1FastfingersMcgee1

    DONT DISOBEY THE POPCORN!

    INFIDEL! >:)

  • Did someone said:"Popcorn"? Ooh i love popcorn to eat! SUP! :D

  • i gotta remove my whole shit to plug the wires to the back of it arrgh

  • Excellent tutorials dude. Thanx

  • This should be an easy yes or no answer, I have an IDE cable but im using the SATA dvd burner, do I put the cord from the SATA dvd burner into the same hole that the SATA hard drive has?

  • Yes. SATA DVD drives plug into the same SATA ports as HDDs

  • Luckily on my case I am getting, it is tool-less drive bays. Just slide it in, press a button and it locks in

  • I hate them. They were so loud that I had to glue them ::(

  • really really good tutorials, thanks

  • does somebody know if its cheaper to build than buy a ready-made pc? plz reply

  • no never do that , they will construct it in most worse way ,but if u sure u cant do it urself then buy ready-made .

  • @bedmanz but is it cheaper?

  • nope , at the shop they unpack all the components like on the video and its not cheaper coz u have to play for theyr work

  • oh wait i think i understand u , u mean if they can highly rise the end price .. well they may . What u need to do if look how much cost each detail itself and then deside ( u have to look at ur local shops becouse the price is very dynamic depending on country )

  • @bedmanz thanks. its just i think i have heard that its more expensive to build a pc than buy a ready made pc (with same parts!). but it cant be ;D

  • @rbrtostone

    building it a littler cheaper

but it's about geting the best component

    that satisfy ur need

  • actually building it takes off almost half the cost :)

  • it's defenetly cheaper to build a PC than to buy one... If you buy a ready-made pc, you are automaticly buying the manufacture, too.

Manufactured PCs also have no name components for ram, hdd e.g.

And they always have bad motherboards inside!

If I were you, I'd build my own PC...

  • oh man it is wayyyyyyyyy cheaper !

I bought my shit for 1500... If I bought it from Dell it would be over 2000 and shitty things probably

  • dell = fail

  • Cheaper depends if you're buying the OS for 100$ or borrowing, cuz it makes a difference...

  • where are you buddy

  • IDE cables are so ugly =P

  • ):48, it sounded kind of like he said: "fuck em up"

  • hey when i get 20 im making my Office Machine computer

  • kind da like a wimpy vin disek to me hehehe

  • yea i know building a computer looks reallly easy but the thing is finding the parts

  • does every mother board come with a ide slot for the optical drive?

  • yea , but their thinking of removing the IDE slot , since most of the new hardware don't use it anymore , but the Optical Drives still use it...

  • you forgot to show how to set the jumpers both optical drives and hard drives (Master / Slave )

  • i was planning on building my own computer buee i want to know how i figure out wat operating system to use like windows or mac and wat kind of monitor i need thanks for these tutorials by the way they are very helpful i even took notes to guide me along also thanks

  • seeing this vids and googling, the building itself doesnt seem hard.

the hardest thing is choosing components xd

  • ya thats what im thinking

  • True

Which components to choose is hardest part you can do.

  • agreed. so much researching and getting components to be compatible with each other.

  • @artiejump the hardest thing is paying for the components ;)

  • @artiejump

Agreed. Im building a gaming PC right now...this vid helped big time.

Plus, my name is Artie :D

  • @m1up LOL mine is arthur

  • @artiejump

OMG! Thats my full name to! :D

  • @m1up yea im gunna start soon with summer here and stuff I might sell them on ebay. Got to look up the best gaming cpu and motherboard first though and get the money

  • @mrantis

Im building my PC this summer as well lol. Im trying for budget...but kick ass performance. I think 4870x2 is very good card. I got a 280 that il put in it tho lol.

  • @artiejump and making sure every piece of the pc is compatible with each other xD

  • @artiejump its not hard at all im always amused at ppl that pay $25-40 to install a stick of ram

  • @husher5142 yeah me too, when people ask me to configure a new PC, i just have like 4 lists of PC's, but they don't know that haha

  • @artiejump its true

picking out your parts can be confusing, frustrating, tiring etc. and id definately the hardest part

  • How do you put the hard drive in the computer..? I bought an empty AXP Gaming Series Armor X and I don't know where to put the hard drive there isn't any obvious spot for it to just slide into. Do I have to buy a seat or enclosure for it and mount that into the inside of my case? It's an internal hardrive.

  • joblo,I'm not familiar with that case, but I'll tell you this, just google that case and read some reviews, they will tell you where to put the hard drive

  • well for your hard drive there are 4 not 2 screws the other 2 are on the other side u have to take off the other side of your case if you cant dont cut a hole in your case trying to screw in the hard drive

  • SATA ftw, PATA ftl

    dis is tru,mon

  • thats awsome i got very help full video i will recomend my friends

  • install the IDE Cable in your ass and turn the power cable on to your computer it feels so good.

  • lol

  • @KanyeDescrace You mean the Ass-Washer? XD

  • @KanyeDescrace LOL!!!!!
