  • whats the name of this song anyone know?

  • @darianmitchell Just the way you are by Bruno Mars

  • im so going for my 1st pageant on jan 21!!!!!!

  • @AbellaPitera good luck, i have my first pageant on march 4th

  • i remember my last pagent, my lips trembled so!

  • I'll be there one day :,D

  • Dresses were ok, but these girls cannot walk in a gown at all!

    MISS USA FTW!!!

  • Guerrero-02-Murphy: Much less concerning than watching girls with perfect hair wearing swimming suits (This never happens in the beach). Most of the comments are quite empty and tell us little about the competitors.

  • Badon-02-Murphy: The superficial narrations failed to give me idea who is walking across the catwalk. When the pageant girls were narrating their favorite shoes, I laughed at how pointless the comment was as this made them seem ditsy. If anything, the narrations were only added as a filler to at least make the girls seem tangible human beings

  • O'Connor-02-Murphy: It's really ironic to me that Miss Hawaii actually said that it was about how it made her feel on the inside, when she's being judged right there on her outside appearance. Talk about contradicting yourself on National television.

  • Theisen-02-Murphy: Many of the interviews told me nothing about the person. I think its pretty funny that some of them felt they could explain their personality by giving one example of how they think in a regular situation. It makes me feel as though they really don't have personalities. It kinda creeps me out.

  • At least in this one they get to have more of a voice in this clip so they are slightly more than a hot body and a smiling catch phrase for their state. I do find it ironic that they keep talking about the "real me" and when they have manipulated their bodies, hair, and done tons of make up for this competition. It disapointed me that when they had a chance to speak for themselves some only really spoke about their dresses or shoes which is yet another shallow attribute to be judged on.

  • Bandyopadhyay-02-Murphy

The narration of the girl going on in the background is ludicrous. I understand why they made the girls do it. It was so that they would be able show how they are beautiful on the inside as well as out. This clearly was a fail because how does choosing a gown or talking about shoes show how a person is internally beautiful?

  • Hartnett-02- Murphy

Well, I found the narration was ridiculous! that was hilarious to hear and have the girls be like oh ill be way better... wait actually ill be the same in the end. Then what is the point of this competition? Some of the girls narrations did not even seem to make absolute sense. Its so weird how all the girls are "just themselves" and there is nothing they want to change. That is complete bull. These girls starved and worked everyday for this.

  • Donoso-Reddick- 04-Murphy: they try to make themselves normal by saying that they are just their "first name insert here", but what does that mean? saying "im just Ashley" does not give me any idea on who that is, and they hide behind that facade. They're wearing elegant dresses, but most of them talk about how they love being at home in their "comfy" clothing.

  • Lima-03-Murphy I like this competition better because you are able to compare the women on what they are wearing. These interviews are irrelevant though. The song contradicts the event as well.

  • Mool-04-Murphy: Everybody looks really good and all the gowns are perfect! Even though they are all decked up with loads of make up and hairspray and what not, at least in this round we can differentiate between them!

HOWEVER wht two of them were sayin doesnt make sense. Someone's talkin abt wanting lady gaga's MEAT gown while sm1 is considering themselves as blessed just becuz they have a pair of shoes which took 8 hrs or so to make!!!!

  • Mirabile-04-Murphy: I agree with most of the people who commented below me. When the women are talking about themselves it's extremely cheesy and clearly what they think the judges and the rest of America wants them to say. Obviously when they are parading around in very expensive gowns they want to seem more relateable to 'everyday Americans' in order to win them over.

  • Snyder-3-Murphy: The interviews sounded textremely cheesy and unbelievable when the girls were wearing those dresses

  • Shrestha-03-Murphy: I noticed that all the contestants share a bit of who they are, as Niclou-02-murphy said, as the typical girl next door. I don't understand how that applies to them walking down the runway in a customized gown with million dollars of diamonds. The show demonstrates how women are expected to fit this misconception of being glamourous as well as being down to earth. The media continues to sell the contradicting roles of what women should be like.

  • Niclou-02-Murphy: Most of them pretend to be the "girl next door", while they are parading in front of thousands of people in evening gowns with diamonds and high heels. It's a bit of a paradox to be the "girl next door" if you passed the eight last hours getting styled by a professional... Absolutely love the dresses though.

  • Waites-04-Murphy: I cannot believe the comments I hear on this. They talk about how wonderful it is to dress up like a stereotypical disney princess, but they actually say that they prefer wearing their casual clothes. They all say how they dress to fit their personality, but it is all just a front to look sexy while maintain a charming innocence about them.

  • Conde-03-Murphy: I love how they were talking about being real in all, but who knows if it was to impress the judges, I mean it is a show too and girls are dying to win this competition so they will say anything. NO matter how much I loved all the dresses, it was ehh iffy.

  • Provost-03-Murphy: This was the most appropriate part of the competition. They are portraying themselves in a way they could be proud of. The conversations in the background were a little cheesy but they were also the girls trying to be cute and real with the cameras which put so much pressure on them.

  • Jeranyama-04-Murphy: Them narrating something about themselves is so cheesy, its so fake, just to make them appear more humble to the judges, even in their extravagant gowns

  • Boyle-4-Murphy: The song in the background is the first thing i noticed. Watching this and hearing the song kinda changed how I looked at the song when I heard it. They are all very tan too which doesn't help with the big skin cancer tanning issue we seem to have these days.

  • Notarangelo-03-Murphy: Their dresses were O.K.. however... their conversations were absolutely meaningless and in reality... i don't believe a single thing of what they said... it sounded soooo fake and unrealistic..

  • Liang-04-Murphy: I totally agree with Sullivan. They all look great in those gowns, but their interviews do sound fake. As a competition, these interviews are suppose to give a sense of who they are to the audience, but some, or possibly all of these interviews, are hard to believe from what we're seeing in these pageants.

  • Sullivan-3-Murphy: They all look nice in their dresses. There interviews were pointless and very fake sounding.

  • Michelle Obama, Sophisticated & Classy? Girl Pleaseeeee.

  • Watching these girls walk in a gown hurts my head.

  • Miss USA is way better.

  • @KnightxxArrow Miss USA may be more "up to date", but Miss America is the original. The the classic women compete for this. Miss USA contestants usually have a lot of plastic surgery...not very real women.
