  • Someome once accused me of composing the theme music to this soap. I am not guilty.

  • Perhaps I was too harsh. Reading my comments again it certainly does seem like it. I admit that I was never a fan and so never saw much of it. I've deleted what I said because it does seem unfair. If you are right about the show's diversity, and I'm sure you are, then I apologize.

  • @1957MCL You are very wrong about never seeing Indigenous or Migrants on this show...have a look at the mid 450 episodes.. and I believe there were Indigenous actors appearing in the 300's eps.

As for everybody being good and decent, that also is wrong, there were many less than decent roles appearing. One of the best all round entertaining soapies ever produced in this country.

  • what a carming and soothing muisc

  • I used to watch this show on Norwegian TV2 back in the 90s. It ran every weekday in 25 minutes eisodes for God knows how many years. That tune will probably stay on my mind for as long as I live.

  • This show used to be to Australia - what Apple Pie is to America. Back in the day, this was my all time fave. I loved the theme song - I used to get angry when the voice-over people talked over the closing credits. I also got upset when they killed off Shirley - played by Lorrae Desmond.

I was only about 8 when this show finished (1990, I think?) but I never forgot this show. Lucky, because I hate ALL dramas and soaps now - and probably wouldn't give this the time of day if it was still on.

  • i have not seen this since i was a little girl it was me and my mom heaven rest her soul fav show

  • i love this i was so mad and mum was so mad that when Tom & Anna got Married they seperated them i was so pissed off

what song do you think would be good for Tom And Anna Newman? love RFDSfan

  • This is, what, last season's opening credits? I used to love this show! :) Thanx for uploading!

  • I was only 5 or 6 when this show came towards it's end, hearing this theme brings back memories of the good old days haha

  • If you were only 5 or 6, you MISSED the good old days of ACP - when Molly, Brendan, Simon and Vicky were the "supercouples" of Australian tv.

  • @roseanne74 I've just finished watching those eps and mourning Molly and co so much. I remember watching first time around, didn't affect me as much as this latest viewing..funny really..

  • What a theme im gonna have to work out how to play this on piano

  • I've got the sheet music - it's not difficult

  • great to watch now but at the time this theme signified intense boredom

  • lol...i KNOW just what you mean....it was like, crap, nothing else on tv!

  • The Best Soap Ever.

I am not even a Soap Opera Fan. I used to watch this in the 1980's and there are many Early Episodes that i have never seen.

This was truly brilliant and always Great Fun to watch.

  • wow! this theme tune brings back many happy memories.

    great programme to watch.

    thanks for posting.

  • Great series and theme tune. Thanks for this. William

  • Would I be right in thinking this was the final set of opening titles(well on the original series anyway)

  • I used to love this show when it was shown in Ireland

  • A wonderful theme tune; one of the best.

  • love these credits, do you anymore?

  • Love it!

I hope Ch7 brings back the series, I'd like to watch it from the beginning (I got hooked in '87)

  • Oh my god I remember this show from back in the days! Awesome show :D

  • Jeg var (og er) en stor fan av Fatso. Han er så søt!

  • id love to see more clips or simon and vicky and kate and harry my fave couples does anyone know if harry and kate were still together when the season ended ?

  • I remember watching this ALL the time...I became addicted when it was the Bernice/Darcy alcoholic storyline....I am wierd yes

  • MOLLLLLYYYYYYY!!!

  • Tror jeg i sin tid fikk med meg hver

  • god that brought on a blast of nostalgia!!

  • These were the credits used in the show's final season in 1993 on Seven.

  • I love this show

  • sadly the show ended in the early 90's, it shifted to different channels first in a bid to save it but it did so in vain, it still ended in 1994

  • Excuse me, "a countery practice" was a great show back in its day! my favourite characters were old Cookie and Bob Hatfield and who could forget cookie's girl Esnay Watson, the town gossip! The saddest moment had to be when poor Molly passed away with luekemia

  • they must have a shortage of actors in australia, most of them turn up in other soaps.
