Seriously, if Harper was concerned so much about security at the G 8 summit, why didn't he had it hoasted at a rural location, like a giant lodge in the middle of the woods beside a real lac? Sure the military would have to be camping around the area with helicopters flying above, but it would have costed a lot less then doing it in big urban Toronto with police , snipers and road blocks everywhere. That idea itself would have saved most of the money they spent, not to mention show our wildlife.

I'm not a Liberal or a Conservative in any way, but I'm glad these kind of issues are getting talked about. I remember, a while ago, the Conservatives put out an ad bashing Iganteiff because he spent some time in England. Their tagline was "Iganteiff: Just visiting".

All I could think of was, "THIS is what our government cares about?? THIS is how campaign money is spent??"

This $1 billion for G20 is ridiculous, and I hope people hold Harper accountable for the money he wastes.

Compalining in this forum is typical, it serves no purpose, Candainas do not want to tell their elected officials what they think, they are scared so they would rather compalin on these sites or to their friends  HOPING THEY will so something. This ad is a little misleading. The total cost of 2 summits putting Canada on the world stage is $1 billion. The "fake lake" in the Pavilion is nowhere near that amount... but Liberals have never been known to fans of logic.
