@DrTrollinThunder Actually, the top for in the late 70's / early 80's was shit as only a select few stations here in the states were playing the good stuff like The Clash. No, punk is a form of music. Words gain their meaning through use, I don't give a fuck who coined the term, and punk is the word for the subset of rock music.
@skakid9090 Punk isn't a form of music. In the Rock n Roll, there are various idioms related to the time signature of the beat (drums) and the play of the bass. Notable idioms are rock in all its guises (rockabilly, heavy metal, "punk", progressive); ska; reggae; funk; disco.
You should quit while you are oh-so-far behind. You lack an understanding of the art of music.

@MrRikum RPI Fieldhouse, Troy, New York, Oct 3, 1982. I've my ticket stub somewhere.
Great show. Surprisingly, Mick Jones can play guitar. Their PA system left much to be desired though.
Here's most of the songs they played that night:
London Calling, Safe European Home, The Guns Of Brixton, Call Up, Know Your Rights, Train In Vain ,
This Is Radio Clash, English Civil War, Brand New Cadillac, Police On My Back, Clampdown, I Fought the Law, Tommy Gun, London’s Burning, Complete Control
I don't know what made Mick Jones decide to do the "hup!" at the beginning of this song, but it really made it that much cooler. Great song! Thanks for uploading.

This entire album is a masterpiece, it may not be as punk as The Clash, or as broad as Sandinista!, but every song on this album is amazing. Take this, for example.
Well it has stiff competition but it does compete, Your choice of old David Bowie Album Probably Ziggy Stardust, Are you Experienced, Disintegration, Velvet Underground @ Nico, Daydream Nation, OK Computer,L.A. Woman.. or anything else from the Doors, Doolittle, White Album......... I couldn't pick the best album of all time.... it wouldn't compute.

Even Simonon sing a few. Either way a great combination of talented musicians that produced exceptionally blatant music.I wonder if the "Who" inspired the Clash or was it the Ramones?
Is it messed up that I say I like Mick better as a singer, I mean when you think of the singer for the Clash you think "Joe Strummer" but Mick rocked too!! plus my two fav songs (besides rock the casbah) are this and train in vain which are both sung by Mick.
These guys were definitive proof that punk rock angst could mean more then a petulant cry thrown up by the children of les miserables. Ces't la vie!

yep with you Craig, Strummer was great but Mick wrote the best songs, another one i forgot to add was Stay Free

That's strictly a matter of opinion, both Joe and Mick wrote great songs but together they are the best!!

Even Simonon sing a few. Either way a great combination of talented musicians that produced exceptionally blatant music.I wonder if the "Who" inspired the Clash or was it the Ramones?

Probably both. Their music ranges from Three-chord rage to Genre-Bending tracks that incorporate genres such as Reggae, pop, etc...
Sometimes both!

Is it messed up that I say I like Mick better as a singer, I mean when you think of the singer for the Clash you think "Joe Strummer" but Mick rocked too!! plus my two fav songs (besides rock the casbah) are this and train in vain which are both sung by Mick.
but RIPunk Joe Strummer
