mick taylor drag the stones down????? was that comment for real or are you a total idiot, i know everybody is entitled to there opinion, but that was a stupid comment, all mick taylor did was lift them to a higher level, something that ronnie wood [ no disrespect intended] could never do.
You're an idiot. Between the two of them they elevated the stones musically. It's no fallacy to say that the stones were at their creative peek when Mick and Brian were members collectively. The music started to slide into pastiche after Taylor left the band in particular. Not that I'm knocking Ronnie Woods. He is a worthy contemporary whom compliments Keith in his own way. But he never challenged Keith's playing like Jones or especially Taylor. Taylor was an unsung and overlooked Stone.
if you ask me all brian jones and mick taylor did was drag the stones down but the stones were loyal to them so dont rag the ones that made it (mick ,kieth, ron and charlie)
Love the Sticky Fingers version; But to some people's ears this recorded live version sounds sweeter. The guy is great.I was bummed seeing the stones in 75,78 & 81 in Philly and they really we're not any good(picture the Stones playing shattered and leaving the stage after only a dozen songs at JFK stadium with 100,000+ there).Never really have seen/heard a bad Mick Taylor recording. He probaly was right getting out of the stones just for his own happiness and creative juices.I wish MT good health
@midsizedwhiteboy Yeah Mick Taylor went on to make a bunch of great records. I even forgot about Mick Jagger and Keith Richards after all of MT's success. I do love his period with the Stones but they just kept rolling on with Ronnie not missing a beat. THE ROLLING STONES with or with out Brian Jones or Taylor are THE GREATEST ROCK 'N ROLL BAND INTHE WORLD! Love you Brian, Taylor as well as Wood, mostly Jagger, Richards, Watts and Wyman then Bobby Keys, Stu, Hopkins, Darryl, Lisa and Fowler
@JoshSwartzberg Look, I met Chuck Leavell, nice guy, great with the Stones live, but didn't have anything to do with or compare to with others that recorded great Stones records over the years. Not any part of any debate. I was being sarcastic. Mick Taylor never did any memorablae record after he left the Stones, if he did more than one, very few bought it. But you're right Chuck has been part of the live line up along with some others that I mentioned above. He deserves his credit. B. Keys!
Why all speak still Englisch? :P
