What I have to ask... because I want to get an SSD for gaming but I dont want to just buy an ssd for storage is how can I make an SSD run everything (for faster performance and OS) and store my games but store everything else like videos pics etc on a normal HDD?

i need some help with formatting a secondary hard drive.everytime i try and format it,i get a message saying that its an active hard drive,which leads me to think thant im trying to format the wrong one but the new hard drive came out of an acer and goes under the name acer on my comp.so i was just wondering what to do and what ive done wrong.

@leanlifter You know what, I just figured something out. I don't charge $75 for info, I charge $75 for a build quote. then if I build the computer for them, I refund that fee. I don't just answer questions for money, I answer questions all the time for free. its the build quote that I charge for. I guess there was some confusion there. I charge for the quote because as you know it takes several hours to talk with the client and come up with the perfect hardware, accessories for them.

The information is free and can be found other places, but it is THEIR choice to do it this way, a lot of people find it easier this way instead of going through dozens of forums and mountains of info and pages. God bless the gamers for keeping the prices as low as they are however at the end of the day computers are not for little boys. Question on the R3E, plan to use it on my build, I've read some reviews of people having issues with the Northbridge over heating due to poor manufacturing basically. Mostly, poor thermal compound used or heatsinks not mounted/seated properly so the northbridge temps skyrocket, causing board to shut down. Have you had any issues with that using the R3E board? Did you replace the stock thermal compound on the board with the IC Diamond?

@jamesdrizzt The Rampage III is a lot better. Not only does it support and Intel processor, I had a buddy that bought the Crosshair IV and had some serious issues with it. Build quality and such, which is odd because it is ASUS.

hello lm getting a hd5970 by asus replacing my old rig with a new one based on intel, my mobo support cross and sli. Now l got 2 gf9800gtx+ xxx what lf l use the hd5970 for graphic and 9800 for phisix? do they work toghether?

@bhdrandyal1993 I've used ATI for graphics and Nvidia for physX before, but it was really buggy and I don't recommend it on an everyday basis. That is one of the reasons I went to Nvidia.

Try to find someone knowledgeable like Tributar or Maxishine to spend an hour with someone on email for 'GOOD' answers...good luck.  Also, I was at 'a computer shop up the street' a couple of weeks ago and he tried to tell me that AMD was better for gaming. HEHE!!! Maybe about 4 years ago. Cutting edge computer knowledge is hard to find. :)

I mean for any gaming PC that you'd actually need pro-level help on, it's gonna cost you 2500-3k minimum, tacking on 50 more bucks for good help shouldn't really be an issue. :)

Trudy, for the $50 thing, is there an expiration time or a limit on number of questions? I just got into desktop building 1.5 years ago, when I built a SLI gaming/working/media rig. I do have questions that I would like to ask someone. But I'm not building another system yet.
